Hosting
Hi & hello, I have just registered a domain with a US company and was intending to host with them, but I noticed on my account with them that they have billed me three times for the domain registration. So I opened a support ticket some 22 hours ago to try and resolve the issue before giving them any more of my money, but with no response
I would think that new customers would get slightly preferential treatment but with these guys it seems not (moan over)
After trawling through your forum it seems this is the place to host my website. but a couple of questions:
If I pick, say your silver hosting plan and exceed my bandwidth what happens?
Can I upgrade my hosting plan if that happens?
Do I need to monitor my bandwidth?
Second question what nameservers should I point my domain to?
Thanks

Hello Neville,
Firstly, welcome to the forum. I have answered all your queries:-
In case your bandwidth usage exceeds on Silver plan, you can upgrade to a higher plan without any hassles. Upgrade requests are processed in less than 1 - 2 hours by our 24x7 billing department.
You won't need to monitor your bandwidth usage constantly as our Server will send automated notifications couple of times if your usage crosses 80% of the alloted bandwidth.
Nameservers information, control panel login details and other necessary account information will be sent to you in the welcome email after you sign up and make the payment.
Please feel free to post if you have any further questions.

Brilliant and the last question, which maybe will sound stupid but the php script i want to use requires: -PHP 4.x, MySQL 4.x
* -Zend optimizer should be installed (almost a standard on all servers)
* -PHP safe_mode = off
* -GD library ( http://www.boutell.com/gd/)
My credit card is ready LoL

Hi Neville,
I'm not certain about all the features you've asked about. I have a feeling that things will work however I'm sure someone from the tech side of things will be along soon. I believe even if eUK don't have those features on their normal servers, they do have one server which has more features enabled however it leaves it slightly more open to potential attack.
As I say however, someone will be along shortly (hopefully) and will be able to give you a solid answer. I personally though cannot praise eUKhost enough. Even when you do have a problem, with 24X7 support, you get a response pretty quickly.

Our servers getting filled right now have PHP 5.2.2, mysql V 5.0.27 & Zend Optimizer v3.2.8
Some of our other servers have php 4.4.7 and mysql 4.1.22 so we can setup your account on one of this servers. You will need to contact our support team once you signup to get your account setup on php 4 server.
Safe mode can be enabled or disabled from .htaccess file but by default safe_mode is Off on all our cPanel servers. GD library is available on all our shared hosting and reseller hosting servers.

Feel free to let us know which version you need. most probably you wont need to switch to php 4 / mysql 4 as all scripts support php 5 this days.
