Default Hosting and Domain move

hello

My website hosting both domain name and hosting will shortly becoming up for renewal with 123reg. I ordered the whole package through them I would like to move it over here but am not sure how easy this is. I have nothing in writing to say I actually own my domain name.
I suppose i'm asking what steps I need to take to make the move and will i need to do something at 123 prior to the move or just let it lapse.
Warned you it was a dumb question.
cheers

Simply at time of sign-up choose option "Transfer existing domain name" and support dept. will take care of initiating transfer request. If you would like your website hosting transferred to eUKhosts servers please visit this link for more information: http://www.eukhost.com/support/knowl...g-website-ftp/.

Please note if you have a UK TLD domain then you will need to ask your current domain registrar to change the IPS tags of your domain and make them point to “ENOM”. Once the IPS tags are changed to ” ENOM ” then you only need to signup for hosting services from our website hosting and select the option “Transfer My Existing Domain”. We will accept your domain name in our account once it is retagged.

I'm not familiar with the 123reg system but in many hosting packages you have control over the domain name separately from the webspace, so you might find that logging into your 123reg account via their webspace, you can alter the IPSTAG yourself. This was true when I was with compila, as I was able to use it to leave them after terrible support lol.

It was most definitely not a stupid question and it is a lot more stupid to not ask the question and then make a mistake! So well done for asking!!

Like has been said if you need to change your IPS tags to ENOM (if .uk domain) but I think with every other TLD you are OK. Support are very good and will help you through every step of the way so I am sure you won't get into any problems. If support arn't able to do certain things (like change the tags) they will guide you through every step of the way I am sure so you won't be on your own.

Regarding the 123Reg control panel I'm not sure but with GoDaddy you can access all options related to your domain.

Hope that helps
