Default Which hosting plan?

Hello,

Im planning on setting up an online shop using Zen Cart and im wondering which hosting would suit this the best? There will probably be over 1k+ categories and products and I also need SSL.

Thank you

If you can help me with your database size, I can suggest you the suitable hosting plan.

I have a Zen cart shop which has over 4k products each with a small, medium and large picture. The web site hosting uses just under 1500Meg.
Hope that helps

Hello,

If your web site hosting as big as that of David's then we would suggest you to go for the Linux Gold Plan or higher. I have just assumed that you are looking for a Linux-cPanel hosting package.

And if you need full control over your system with shell access than you can go for a Basic VPS Hosting Plan.

You can start off with the Linux Gold or Linux Platinum package, you always have the option to upgrade in future when you need more resources. You may also consider a VPS Hosting for total control with root access and flexibility.

We do offer Dedicated SSL certificate. Dedicated IP required for installation of the certificate is offered with the certificate.

Thanks for all the reply.

I looked at the VPS Hosting package but im not entirely sure how that works and I don't have any experience with Virtuozzo. Do I get shared or Dedicated SSL with VPS Hosting package? And what is the difference with Linux and Windows package?

David, can I check your site?

Thank you

Virtual Private Server (VPS Hosting) hosting environment combines the benefits of both shared hosting and dedicated hosting by creating a virtual server that runs inside a hardware server via a specially designed partition.

Each VPS Hosting runs its own operating system in a secure and private environment and cannot be accessed or interrupted by its neighbours. A VPS Hosting gives you the same level of root access as a dedicated server whilst sharing the cost of the hardware.

Virtuozzo Power Panel is a powerful VPS Hosting management tool which allows you to reboot your VPS Hosting from your end. You will be able to stop and start services, view the running process and set up alerts to notify you if there is a problem with your VPS Hosting. All our VPS Hosting plans are fully managed so please do not worry about anything even if you do not have any experience with a VPS Hosting. We will take care of all the necessary installations during set-up of your VPS Hosting. In case you need any assistance after your VPS Hosting is set-up you can get in touch with our VPS Hosting support anytime as we offer 24x7 Customer Support as standard.

Shared SSL is offered as standard with all packages while dedicated SSL is optional and priced at £39.00/Year.

Linux and Windows are two different hosting platforms, if you are not sure which hosting platform to choose then most likely you do not require Windows hosting and you should opt for Linux hosting.

Please feel free to post if you need any further information.

It's due to go live shortly - so the links to the home page get redirected to my customer's old web site hosting (apart from the link in the copyright notice at the bottom of the page - which takes you back to index.php)

I have a reseller package (just upgrading to a VPS Hosting) which is more than enough for this site
Regards
