Default Linux VPS Hosting Feedback

Hi,

I've recently signed up with webfusion for a linux VPS Hosting package and I can tell you it's been the most appalling service I've ever experienced. In the last five day's I've managed to gain access to my control panel only a handful of times and spent several hours trying to get any tech support. So I've decided to terminate my account with them and to look for another provider.

So I have a question to eukhost Linux VPS Hosting users:-
What's your experience been like with them? whether it's been good or bad I really would like to hear.

Thanks,
Greg

All I can say is that my experience with eUKhost's Linux VPS Hosting services has been excellent. My support tickets get replied to within the hour, and downtime is minimal, if there is any at all. I have both the l-VPS Hosting-01 and the l-VPS Hosting-03 packages; both have been brilliant. The network is also very fast as well, clocking in at around 1GBps.

To sum it up: excellent!

And I feel sorry for you for your experience with Webfusion; I can agree with you from experience.

I'm only a forum gremlin (moderator), and do not work for eUKhost in any way. Opinions expressed by me are mine only, and do not reflect those of either eUKhost or any company that may be listed above.

I don't bite, honest.

Its been quite good. I have not (on occasions) had the privilege of support ticket responses within the hour, but they have been very technically proficient and effective. I have never experienced the level of service here that you seem to have suffered there.

TBH, technical expertise is extremely important as is timely responses to support requests. The upside here is that you have multiple accesses to support (telephone, live supprt, tickets), so if you don't by chance get the response you expect you can always persue it along other lines of communication.

And the VPS Hosting set ups here are actually pretty good. Good resource set ups and plenty of technical help if you get into trouble.

One recommendation though, go for a VPS Hosting with virtuozzo installed, if cpanel/WHM or your firewall give you bother you have the facility to reboot/resolve yourself rather than ask support

Greg, for what it's worth my VPS Hosting experiences with eUKhost from November to February on two different hardware nodes, were DIABOLICAL! However, in the interests of fairness I'll begin by saying that eUKhost have moved their datacentre since then and invested in a lot more hardware; they have experienced much (and suffered much) in a variety of VPS Hosting 'episodes' since then that have been reported here and I think it's quite accurate to say the support team has come through those experiences positively and now has a much stronger grasp of what it takes to keep them running reliably (according to what I've witnessed here) ...

Another however though — I strongly recommend if you're intending on running a hosting business and reliability is of paramount importance, you avoid VPS Hosting packages like the plague! The hardware node itself and its other 'customers' (other VPS Hosting owners) are your biggest enemies and you have absolutely NO control of their influence on the stability of your VPS Hosting. It seems that hardware nodes frequently suffer from trashed hard drives and other issues that can cause major downtime, plus it's a bit of a lottery in keeping your own VPS Hosting server load out of the red because it's not only dependent on what you're doing, but what your neighbours are up to as well ...

I don't get any similar issues with my dedicated server — reliability has gone from one of extreme problems (VPS Hosting) to the complete opposite now, ever since mid-February. Yes there are occasional glitches with issues outside my control (like cPanel updates) and the odd faux pas I make, but the support team are always on hand to help — if it had not been for that fact I would have ditched eUKhost long ago! They are not perfect though (but keep trying, which is important)!

So are you hosting just your own stuff that isn't especially mission-critical, or in the business of providing customers with ultra-reliable hosting, or something else?

I used to have a linux VPS Hosting from eukhost, and as far as I remember, I had no downtime at all! The only downtime I did have was a scheduled outage which was when they were moving the servers to a new datacenter.

The technical support was great, and if I did have any problems with my VPS Hosting, the support team fixed them within a quick time frame.

You can have a look at the customer testimonials here at eUKhost and I hope this will answer all your queries-

I can't comment on the VPS Hosting packages as I have never had one but the shared and dedicated server packages have been top notch.

Yes there has been their ups and downs but I've always been helped through them and most problems are minor and fixed in no time by the excellent support team here at eUKhost.

Hopefully if you decide we will see you round here as a customer and fellow forum user .
