Question A lot of questions while considering your hosting

Until now i have my hosting at servage, but the performance is quite terrible
I get load times on the webshops varying from 3 to 30 seconds
I definitely want to improve that with my new hoster I think for webshops <2-3 seconds is desirable.

I have two zencart webshops (one selling photographs via downloads)

A few normal HTML/PHP (HTMP with PHP extension to allow includes) websites 4 of them with MYSQL driven guestbook.

Two websites with a Wordpress weblog. and a webcalendar based on MYSQL

I get about 5000 visitors/day total at this moment.Total disk use I see now is about 20 gig but can well grow to double of that.(I am working on two Photo websites with >1000 high resolution images each)

In preparation of new photo website I need to upload files in folders that will not yes be available to browser for some time and thus not directly linked to one of the websites. (This might appears as web storage but that is not the propose. I have backups on DVD and 2nd PC harddisk.)

I need at least on IPnumber that I can use for confirmation of originating website. I need to give that to the payment processor and that gets verified on payment request.

Maybe I want to offer also some steaming video content but that is for future;

At his moment there a 5 Websites reached under 9 domains. I want to have at least possibility to have 10 unique websites and a few subdomain. Some have content that will be rated as adult

I want to use .htaccess for some access restriction, index protection and control of PHP memory size for some of the sites

I read a lot about blacklisted mailservers Is thr a difference in the risk getting blacklisted for sharedhosing, reseller or VPS hosting?
I read a lot about blacklisted mailservers How about yours? What actions are taken if a server gets blacklisted?

Considering the amount of disk space you use and the amount of visitors you get, you would probably end up overloading the shared server; so I recommend you go with l-vps-02 plan. None of our servers are black-listed, apart from Typhoon which currently contains some bad accounts which are in the process of being deleted. If you go for VPS or dedicated hosting you will only get blacklisted if you do something wrong yourself, as it will be your own server, and not shared with anyone else. All VPS and dedicated server packages come with 2 IPs, with the possibility to add more.

If you go for VPS, you can go with cPanel control panel which will let you host unlimited domains, you will also be able to have streaming video on the server.

We allow the hosting of adult content on our servers, under the condition that it is in accordance with UK law. For more information regarding adult content hosting please visit http://www.eukhost.com/support/knowl...bsite-hosting/.

You can host any PHP/MySQL powered application on Linux hosting; this includes WordPress and ZenCart.

You can use .htaccess on any of our servers; whether it be a shared, vps or dedicated package!

Hi Flesso,

At this moment I cannot afford the L-VPS-02 at this moment
I do not really make any money on the websites until now. If I would start making and see that I am running out of resources, money will be there and I sure will need semi dedicated or dedicated.
About the streaming content:That is just a wish for the future

I did some re calculation on the real data I have for teh sites:

Related to the number of files I will use:
I checked the folder containing the larger amount of photo's
That are at this moment 1700 so say total will be 3500 (OK I like some marging Then double that for thumbnails so 7000. I have 2 webshops with 2700 files each and when I take that as an average for each website that will add up to 10*2700+7000about 34000 files and I think that is with quite some marging . This number really amazes me but will be well below the 50.000
The total number of folders I calculate is around 2000 for all websites I have.
The number of visitor I mentioned is what I get from the statistics of my current websites hosted at servage. I have no clue how accurate these numbers are because I heard many complaint about their accuracy. For some of the websites I have a statcounter installed showing about half the page views and I tent to trust them some more.
When I look at the used bandwidth at this moment I see about 7 gig/month. about 0.25 gig/day in total . That will grow when I reallly get traffic on the photosite. but I will be happy if the traffic doubles for that That would soon drive my budget to a higher level and then I can accept that I have to move some websites again.

Hello MrBet,

It seems that our Gold plan should be sufficient for your requirements. As the disk space that you need is below 5GB and bandwidth below 50GB so our Gold plan should be sufficient to get started.

Once you get more traffic and your budget improves then you can consider another solution as shared hosting is not recommended for websites using more than 30 GB bandwidth per month.

If you run out of diskspace then your traffic allowance isn't affected. You can always purchase extra diskspace separately as per your requirements.

Package upgrade is usually the best option and more cost effective in case you need more disk space in future.

Also because of the point that usually if you need more space you will also need more traffic allowance as the more you have on your website the more that is likely to be downloaded per visitor.
