Max number of mySQL database
My Bronze plan allows a maximum of 5 mySQL databases. What are the limits for the Silver, Gold and Reseller package?
Thanks in advance for your help. Thanks.

Q. How many MySQL databases do you allow on your hosting packages?
Ans. We allow unlimited MySQL databases on all our hosting plans and you can create as many databases, however, your databases are restricted by your disk space allocation.

Max number of MySQL database
Yes, it now says that I am using 2 out of 25 SQL database, this should be more than sufficient with the package that I currently have.
Thanks. Eric

Glad to see that you got it sorted - the reason for the number of databases being set so low is probably so you don't overload your plan and rapidly run out of disk space .

If the plan is unlimited then its not up to eukhost to play GOD and control their usage by limiting the number. The reason for the restriction is surely an administrative error and nothing more. If you wanted 10 apples and I gave you only two in case you ate them all - would you be satisfied?

No, but if I was on a shared plan and my website went down because of over excessive MySQL usage then (as a possibly inexperienced user) not only would it cause ticket after ticket where do you think the blame would land?
I agree with your point in principle though.

I can make it 9999999999 if Eric wants to setup that many databases. Absolutely no problem in doing so

Wouldn't that crash the shared server?

Server wont allow you to make more than 32,000 Directories in any particular directory so your control panel will not allow you to make that many databases as any sort of directory creation command will fail to execute.
Server wont go down but it wont allow you to make any new directory.

Why is 32,000 the limit? Is that a restriction of the operating system or an eUKhost restriction?

Mr. Mark is correct, Linux kernel with ext3 partitions support only 32000 subdirectories as that is the limit for an inods link count. However if you have ext4 partition then you can patch your kernel to have upto 65000+ directories.

Thank god that I'm nowhere near 32000 directories!
