Default Phone call

Once you've ordered a hosting package, why do you get phoned up and what do you ask the customer about?

Hello Sam,

to Eukhost

Now-a-days, there are tens of thousands of unscrupulous elements out there on the internet trying to scam credit card details or paypal accounts to try and use it for themselves. They try and purchase something over the internet using these details. However, once the original holder of the card or paypal account comes to know about it, they immediately either charge-back and / or reverse the payments made so. A lot of times, the credit card numbers used belong to stolen cards as well.

This leaves the service provider (Eukhost in this case) in a lurch. Even after having rendered services, we do not get paid for it without a fault of our own. Also, the charge-backs and reversals dent our reputation as a reliable service provider.

To avoid all these hassles, we call up customers who subscribe for web-hosting with us and cross verify the details which they submitted during sign-up. This helps to establish the true identity of the customer and also weed out frauds. All this is also done to protect your interests as a customer too.

I hope this has cleared all apprehensions and queries you had.

Thanks for clearing that up!

It just seemed strange as my previous host didn't do anything like that.

I am not sure about other hosting providers, but we at Eukhost take every possible measure to keep out frauds. Invariably, when such accounts are setup, the only activity which is seen for their account is spamming or network abuse. There is very little else that they do.

Its all an exercise to ensure that our networks and servers remain clean which only helps further the quality and level of service we can provide

You shouldn't worry. Its a really quick phone call that prevents A LOT of fraud.
