Default Questions before purchasing Linux Platinum

Hi,

I'm just starting out on web design and I have been looking for a good value package that I can use to upload customers website hostings to.

Having found this hosting company, I am very interested in ordering.

Looking specifically at the Platinum package @£70pa.

Am I correct in thinking this is a Linux based package?. Are there any differences/disadvantages between Windows and Linux packages?.

I would also like to know some of the key differences between the Platinum package and the resellers package on offer. Say I wanted to upgrade a few months into the Platinum package to a resellers package, would that be possible?.

What exactly does "unlimited domains" mean?. As I said, bit of a beginner here, so dont laugh!!!. Does it mean that having completed a website hosting for a customer I can simply FTP it to the host here and it will be up and running?. See......told you, complete n00b!!!.

Also, where it says "Free domains for yearly paying customers" in the pop up box when you click on the "charges" in the descriptions for the various packages, does that mean 1 free domain for each yearly paying customer or anytime I register a domain, its free and not £9 as the charges suggest?.

Many thanks for reading and I look forward to your replies.

Linux uses cPanel and Windows uses HostingController.

This would be possible, without any hassle.

This means you can host unlimited parked & addon domains. Parked domains is where you can add additional domains to access your website hosting. Addon domains are domains that point to subdirectories within your account.

If you purchase a yearly package, you get a free domain with your package. The following domain extensions are available with all yearly packages: .com, .net, .biz and .info.

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to reply back for assistance.

Thanks for the reply. That clears a lot of things up.

So let me get this straight, in my mind.

I have a couple of website hostings already built that I want to host for customers.

One is already up and running with 123Reg:-

www. firstdriving.co.uk

The other two are ready to be published but not hosted anywhere as of yet.

So I can upload using the control panel, my two website hostings yet to be published to Euhost under the platinum package and they will be up and running. And I can upload and add as many other completed website hostings as required in the near future?.

With my fathers business website hosting, the www. firstdriving.co.uk can I transfer it over from 123Reg to here and how do I go about that?.

As I said, pretty much a beginner here as far as hosting several website hostings at once goes, hence the silly questions!!!.

Could you explain what "parked" and "addon" domains are?. I've read up on them, but if someone could explain them in plain English, I would appreciate it!!!.

Many thanks,

Gary.

Hello RSBEcosse,

In order to be hosted with us, make sure you have an account with us, and have our nameservers entered on your domain registrar control panel.

In order to provide separate control panels for separate accounts, we recommend a reseller. Resellers enable you to create new accounts based under your reseller, you can completely control these accounts via your WHM (Web Host Manager) page

If you are referring to a domain transfer: http://www.eukhost.com/support/knowl...main-transfer/ or an account transfer: http://www.eukhost.com/support/knowl...email-account/.

Parked Domains: Imagine you parked a domain name www.eukhost.com - you would be able to access your website hosting via two locations (www. your-original-site.com and www.eukhost.com) but remember the parked domain only basically redirects to the default domain.

Addon Domains: You'd be able to access your website hosting via a domain name you specified as an addon domain, but modify the website hosting via a subdirectory in your account. In addition, the domain you added on, you can access cPanel using that domain as well, using the details of your account (i.e. yournewdomain.com:2082).

Any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for the prompt reply, Ben. Very impressed with the speed of replies and assistance on these forums.

I think what I will do is purchase the Platinum account to begin with and take it from there.

As you mentioned earlier, it would be possible to upgrade at a later date to a Reseller account to give clients the ability to use their own control panel to amend their own website hostings, thats very useful I would imagine.

At this point in time though, I think the Platinum package will suffice.

Looking forward to a good experience with Eukhost once I have signed up!!!.

Best regards and thank you,

Gary.

Thanks, Ben.

I have just signed up and purchased the Platinum package.

I have a few questions on the working of it and the control panel, but I will ask these by starting a seperate thread from this one as I feel that would be prudent.

Thanks,

Gary.

Hello Gary,

Please visit http://www.eukhost.com/support/knowledgebase/ as well as http://www.eukhost.com/support/cpanel.php to go through some frequently asked questions about cpanel hosting and flash tutorials. It will take few minutes to do so but its worth to read those to understand functionality of cpanel and learn what features you can use to make your website hosting successful.
