Default Switching Web Host

Hi, I currently have a website hosting hosted by another company, but I'm looking to switch hosts. I'll need to be able to do the following as a minimum and Im wondering whether the gold account will suit my needs:

1. Access to multiple mySQL databases
2. Ability to run PHP scripts
3. shell access using something like putty
4. Ability to schedule cron jobs on the server.

The main reason I want to move from my current host is because of the slow response of their MySQL Server, the website hosting works fine unless it needs to access the database, so I would hope transferring to you guys would improve this for me.

Also, i'm a little uncertain about how I would transfer the domain name, should I be able to do this with a minimum of down time?

Thanks
Stephen.

You will get multiple database support, php support, ability to schedule cron jobs and fast database functioning on our servers but if SSH access is a priority for you then we will setup your account on our Server that has been reserved for customers who need SSH access.

Please specify in message box at the time of signup that you need SSH access as that will let us know to move your account on the Server which has SSH access enabled for customers.

To transfer the domain name I would recommend changing the nameservers first and then allow us to put a transfer request for your domain name. If your domain name is a .co.uk domain name then you will need to change its IPS tags to "ENOM" and from there we can fetch the domain name in our Registration.

Thanks for the quick reply.

That sounds perfect. Yes, the domain is .co.uk but can I ask how I would go about changing the nameservers? I imagine this means I have to ask my current host to do this?

We will provide you with our nameservers in the welcome email once you signup. You will ned to request your existing web hosting company to change the nameservers and point the domain name to our nameservers. Once your website hosting starts working from our servers then you can ask them to retag the domain name and make the IPS tags "ENOM"

We can proceed and get your domain name in our registration once the IPS tags are pointed to our IPS tags.
