Default web hosting packages - hosting provider

Hi there. I'm looking for a new hosting company for my website hosting requirement, but I've a couple of things I'd like to know first!

1) For the "Platinum" shared web hosting package, how many concurrent MySQL connection are permitted?

This is the main reason for finding a new hosting provider - my current hosting company has a ludicrously low limit which is causing no end of problems.

2) If, in the future, my website hosting expands, is it straightforward enough to move it up through your levels - i.e. from the shared hosting account -> VPS Hosting -> semi-dedicated Hosting -> dedicated server?

Cheers.

EDIT: And actually, what are the MySQL connection limits for VPS Hosting up to dedicated Server ?

Hello Mark,

1.We allow upto 25 concurrent MySQL Server connections for a user at anytime on our cpanel shared hosting plans.

2. Upgrading your web hosting plan is not at all difficult. When you move from a shared hosting account to a VPS Hosting hosting node, we will move all the data for you onto the new VPS Hosting hosting server. Ditto when you upgrade to a dedicated server as well. Infact if you are on cPanel control panel right now, we will also help move your data from the current hosting provider to our servers.

3.On a VPS Hosting or a dedicated server, it is completely your choice as to how many concurrent sessions you wish to have. The virtual private server / dedicated server is in your command. It is upto you as to how you would want the CPU processing power to be used best.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, 25 is the "ludicrously low number" with my current host! Although I suspect this may be par for the course with shared hosting, because I'm getting the same (or worse) from other places I'm trying.

I suspect I may have to consider a VPS Hosting hosting plan now instead of in the future. But on the plus side, your offerings are very modestly priced!

Mark,

You will be hard pressed to find a responsible hosting provider allowing more than 25 concurrent MySQL Server connections per user. Remember we are talking per user and not per account. On a shared hosting server, there are between 300 to 500 accounts depending on the server configuration. If we allow say about 40 connections per user, just try to imagine the resource crunch it would create on the processor.

If your website hostings are into heavy usage of mysql, we would always suggest a VPS Hosting. Our VPS Hosting hosting plans are very cheap. Full details are available at VPS Hosting

We normally setup a VPS Hosting account in about 2 to 3 hours from the time the order is verified. So you will be up and running quickly as well.

Ah, my current hosting provider is per account.

But even still, it doesn't make that much of a difference when dealing with a forum because that's one user for everyone.

I'm consulting with my fellow admins, but the chances are I'll be ordering a VPS Hosting hosting plan shortly.

Thanks again.

Mark,

We have received your order for VPS Web Hosting package, but the payment has not yet arrived. We would be able to setup the VPS Hosting package once we receive the payment and verification of the order is done.

I've had an e-mail confirming the payment has been received, so when will the server become active?

Not in any rush -- just itching to start transferring files over! (Unfortunately my current hosting provider doesn't use cPanel.)
