EUKHost looks identical to Webhostinguk, their website hosting, forum and even the issue with FTP.

I recongnise some of the admin's names from speaking to people on Webhostinguk so I would like to know whats going on.

Webhostinguk claim to have a weekly backup on the Windows Shared hosting, EUKHost claim daily.

Hope somebody will let me know whats happening!

eUKhost and Webhosting UK is in an entirely different management as far as I am aware of. I have talked to Ryan about this and he has confirmed this also.

Id like to believe that but the FTP attack on both at the same time!

And even the phone number is almost identical:

0800 097 5584
0800 097 4828

I have spoken to a Mark at webhostinguk

eUKhost is owned by Robert, Webhosting UK is owned by different management.

But why have 2 sister companies, seems strange, why not have the one company?

And it would be good if someone could confirm the backup on shared windows and why I would need the offsite backup.

And also, what Control Panel is used for windows?

Lol I though Hosting Controller was them saying it has a Control Panel, didnt realise it was an actual package.

I was hoping for Plesk or Helm as I need to be able to Schedule tasks, unless I can do that in the Hosting Controller?

We have weekly backups configured on all our servers. The offsite data backup service is to allow our clients keep a daily backup of their mission critical data. We setup daily, weekly & monthly rsync crons/scheduled tasks to copy backup of your accounts on your backup space. This service is an addon service and backup service included in your web hosting plan won’t be compromised for promotion of this addon backup service.

You can get Plesk control panel with a Windows shared account if you don't wish to have Hosting Controller.

Great news about the Plesk control panel, be advised that on your phone support I was told clearly that there is a daily backup of the windows server.

So if I was looking for a daily backup, can I pay the £12 a year and the MySQL and MSSQL databases and all files will be automatically backed up?

Great and does rsync copy the files rather than tis own format so I could log into the backup space and recover a file from the past day?

Also, just to check, if I was looking for Plesk Windows Shared Hosting, where would the server be located?

And that this backup would be in addition to the weekly backup on the servers?

Rsync synchronizes only those files that have been changed since the last backup. You can login to your backup space and recover files from the past day.

Your Plesk Windows Shared Hosting would be created on a UK based server.

The offsite back-up service is in addition to the weekly backup configured on the servers.

The MS SQL Server version installed on our servers is MS SQL Server 2005 Express.

So in your opinion, would MySQL or MSSQL 2005 Express be a better choice as the express only supports 1GB of RAM and 1 CPU also the database doesnt have the failsafe swtichover?

MS SQL Server 2005 Express has most of the features that one database administrator requires. You can do the administration of your database using SQL Server Management Studio Express.
