Website Hosting Questions

Hi
I am having a lot of problems with my current server at the moment since it changed hands, so I am looking for somewhere else. I am on the silver plan with my current provider so will probably be looking for same here. My website had IPB, portal and chatroom. But I have a few things I need to ask and check first. Unfortunately Im not very clued up on all this, the man that used to run the server Im on at the moment used to do a lot for me.

What I would like to know is, what does it take to move my website to here from my current server, what do i need to do?

Do you offer any help getting the website back up? Im a bit concerned that I move my website and wont be able to figure out how to get it back online.

What is your up time like ? At the moment my server seems to be down more than it is up, so I need somewhere reliable to place my website.

Do you provide plenty notice as to when maintence is going to be carried out? My current server only provided 2 hours notice.

Sorry about all the questions but as I said this side of things is my downfall I just want to make sure I get things right.

1)Is your current website hosted on a cPanel server? If so tranferring over will be a jiffy as eUKhost run cPanel and they will be able to copy everything over from your current provider, without you having to do anything.

2)eUKhost are here to help you all the way. It will be your responsibility to change the nameserver of your domain, but thats all you need to do. eUKhost will be able to take care of everything else.

3)eUKhost have a reliable uptime record of 99.9%.

4)eUKhost provide plenty if notice regarding maintenance. You will be notified via email, and it will also be posted here on the forums so that you will know either way!

Thanks for the quick response. Yes I have a cpanel - cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC36)
It all sounds great, and looking through the forum here, everyone seems very happy with the service you provide.
How do I go about changing the nameservers, and can I expect downtime during the transfer?
How do you get my website from my current server? They wont take it down before you get to it will they ?
Sorry about questions but i really dont know what im doing lol.

First of all, you need to sign up for the package you want via the main website - http://eukhost.com. From there you will recieve a welcome email containing all the necessary information, such as nameservers and cPanel login information. Once you have recieved that information, open a ticket with support [at] eukhost.com, containing the information from your welcome mail (username, pass, server etc.). In this ticket you will also need to provide the login details of the old host, so that eUKhost can transfer all your files over.

Once thats done, you can then change the nameservers of your domain to those contained in the welcome mail.

After all thats done, you can then cancel your server/package with your old host.

If you do it as I've described you will experience no downime.
