Default Windows VPS Hosting Purchasing Process

Hi,

My question is about the practical issues of purchasing a hosting plan on behalf of a client.

Is the following scenario possible?

I purchase the hosting plan with monthly payment initially, entering my name and details on the customer form, and my credit card details. Then I test the website hosting on the eUKhost server. If everything is satisfactory for the client, and he wishes to continue hosting with eUKhost, the customer name is changed to my client’s name, and the credit card details are changed to his also. The client will reimburse me for the initial charges on my credit card.

James

Hello James,

We have no problem with this arrangement. You can change the billing information from your billing account once you wish to move the account under ownership of your customer.

We have nothing to do with your payment terms with your client so that part can be managed on your end

If this is a one off then continue as above, if you have many clients i would suggest a Reseller Plan, you can then create you own packages and price plan.

You can manage all your clients website hostings under one control panel.

Hallief3,

Thanks for the advice, but this is a one off purchase of a VPS Hosting plan for a client with special requirements (though he may host his new website hosting and move an existing website hosting there also).

I suppose I've shied away from Reseller plans, not knowing to what extent I might be involved on a continuous basis, whether I have to manage client support issues, etc.

I'm busy trying to get work and experience on the web development side, with insufficient clients with similar requirements to even consider reselling yet.

You dont necessarily have to re-sell your webspace just because you have a reseller account, I find it very handy to have a reseller account for just messing around with. But then if a client comes along I dont have to worry about purchasing new accounts.

With the rediculously low price Eukhost charge its easily affordable too. With another company I pay the same price for a standard 100mb hosting account as I do for a reseller account here. (which reminds me, I need to change!)

daledavies,

Thanks for your good suggestion.

At the moment I need to concentrate on establishing hosting for my current client's website hosting. It needs to be VPS Hosting hosting, as it requires Full Trust access, and so no other client's website hosting should be allowed to share that VPS Hosting (though the same client's second website hosting might be moved there).

After this project, I may have time to consider your suggestion further. I'm assuming that reseller plans exclude VPS Hosting hosting, but I could be wrong. I'm aware my undestanding of hosting variables and possibilities is incomplete, if not in error!
