Hi

I have been approached by a friend who will be launching his new radio station later in the year. He wants a website for basic information but he would also like to allow visitors to listen live on the website, in addition to his normal broadcast

Obviously he will be streaming the live broadcast. Will he need to find a specific streaming server, as I understand this will require quite a bit of bandwidth?

Are EUKhost able to provide this sort of hosting? Which is the best way to go?

Sorry lots of questions but he phoned me yesterday for advice (Foolish...lol) and I would like to be able to give him some sound advice, especially as he would like me to build the website

If anyone has experience of this sort of project and feel like they could offer me some advice I would be grateful. Or knows of any articles that would be beneficial.

Streaming a live broadcast will certainly use up a considerable amount of bandwidth every month. So a dedicated server is what your friend should consider. the biggest concern is the number of simultaneous connection and bandwidth limits, it's best if you can locate dedicated streaming server, as I believe they have proxy like feature.
