Default Domain Renewal charges

It's time for me to pay up for another years hosting, but as well as the invoice for the account I've been sent an invoice for domain registration too - as I have a .net domain and pay yearly, surely this must be an error?

Default rip-off

I've just come against this too.

Apparantly the free domain is only for the 1st year, and after that you pay.

I personally think this is a complete rip-off, and completely dishonest - nowhere does it say this in the package desciptions.

*Raises eyebrow*
Ok I wasn't aware of this either, thankfully my own website is hosting only (registered domain elsewhere) and the one affected domain someone else pays for. I appologies if eUKhosts have mentioned it somewhere, however this does need to be clarifed to people,.
eg. "Free domain for first year of hosting"

Admittedly it's only £9, but I think its the principal that counts. I've not received any apology or admittance that they're in the wrong from eUKhost yet, despite several emails to their sales dept. Hence, I've contacted trading standards to report this misleading decription. I encourage you to do the same if it bothers you.

We've modified all packages and related information on all the web pages of website to clarify our policy. Our TOS has also been updated to make this policy clear.

We have this policy from last 5 years but proper information of this policy was not displayed on the website. We offer free domain name to attract potential customers but its not affordable to keep on giving the domain name for free as the cost that we need to pay to ENOM is quite high and those costs wont leave any profit in our hand as all that you will pay for hosting would be lost in renewal of your domain name as well as server costs.

I suggest you talk to the billing team either via livechat or at billing@eukhost.com. They'll give a faster reponse than here.

I don't know what changed in your info system - but when I signed up over a year ago - I was well aware that my free domain was only for one year. When the renewal came around, I simply told billing that I didn't want it and to remove the invoice. Show's how a simple website change can break a perfectly good system

I am another person who has been with eUKhost for over a year now and I was also perfectly aware that the free domain is offered to new customers as a 1 year deal - not permanent.

Far from reporting this kind of misunderstanding - which is what it is as it has been stated, even if only in the threads on the forum that this deal was only for the first year - shouldn't you be thanking eUKhost for saving you £9 for the first year? Granted, it may have previously been unclear in certain parts of the website and ordering process but it doesn't take much digging to find out its only for 1 year. And also, by just having a little think about it, I am sure your aware that no hosting company offers free domains year on year - and the ones that do add the renewal price onto the hosting package (hence there hosting is more expensive than eUKhosts) so in effect you are still paying for it.

Just a thought for you to mull over at your discretion .
