Hi Josh, sorry but that's not the prob - email was working fine, it stopped, I got in touch with support who said they were messing with the spam filter settings, I asked them not to put any anti-spam filters on my account and email started working again. Nothing to do with the MX records.

If any have been put in place you can remove anti spam filters through your control panel. I do believe however that eUKhost has its own spam filters set up as well that filter out the majority of the spam heading towards accounts so these may be the global spam filters that support were talking about .

David,

I think you are correct probably. They've some global anti-spam rules set for avoiding/minimizing spam in their Mail Server settings. So if this is a problem Ben is facing due to these rules, then there surely would be other's even on the same server who would be facing similar problems. I would thereby suggest Ben to place a ticket to their windows support team about this problem, rather than discussing this on the forum. Placing a ticket would give him a quicker and better solution as their techs are available 24x7x365. Good Luck Ben !!!

I agree with you Andy. I just didn't want ben getting confused between anti spam settings in cPanel and the global rules set up by eUKhost (which don't appear in cPanel) and was just trying to explain the differences.

Opening a ticket for this kind of issue is always going to yield the fastest response as I am sure it will only take a couple of test messages on the server end by someone it tech support to test whether the global filters are malfunctioning .

EUK, I am so unbelievably angry about your email services. For the second time in 2 days, I can neither send nor receive email. You are causing me serious problems in managing my business, and with my credibility with customers.

This is the 5th time in the last few weeks that I have had the same problem. Why do you guys feel the need to constantly fiddle with something that is working without problem? Please can someone senior contact me and address my concerns with your company.

Please open a ticket regarding this issue; if you're hosted on a Windows server please email 'windows [at] eukhost.com', if you're on Linux, please email 'support [at] eukhost.com'. In the ticket please state your domain, and which email address(es) are affected.

I hope all went well with opening your ticket. Unfortunately problems of this nature cannot be dealt with in the forums but if you email the addresses list above by Josh the support team will be more than happy to address your concerns and deal with your requests .

Hi Guys. I have opened so many tickets since signing up with EUKHost it's ridiculous. I have also opened many tickets for the email problems I described above.

Unfortunately, I am now getting very tired of continually suffering the same problems over and over again. I go to my web mail - I see a 'server application unavailable' error. I open a ticket, it is resolved (usually after several hours). 2 days later I go to my webmail again and I get the same problem.

For some reason, EUK decided it was appropriate to mess around with my default page settings for all my website hostings. Result - my website hostings don't work because they don't have the correct default page set. I fix the problem myself, 2 days later, it happens again. Why are technical support staff messing with my default page settings?

That (and other small things) I can handle, but when my email is disrupted I tend to get upset, especially when it's for the same reason each time. I don't get upset the first time, not the second, maybe not even the third but after that yes. I asked for the reason after the first outage, and was told that they were testing my spam deletion settings. I informed them that I have my own antispam solution in place - I don't need EUK to put in place any spam deletion measures for any of my domains. What happens? 2 days later, my email is not working again. Why? Because they are playing with the spam deletion settings. I state even more firmly that I do not wish EUK to put any antispam measures on my domains. 2 days later - my email is not working again - why? Because they are playing with the antispam settings... I eventually think they have got the message - and then a month later my email is not working again - why not? EUK won't give me a sensible answer, but I assume they are messing with the antispam settings again. When you're in the middle of managing a project that is important to the client, and the main means of communication is by email, then having email not working is a serious problem, and quickly gets pretty frustrating for everyone involved. My email not working looks unprofessional and may well cost me business.

Thus, I am pretty frustrated. If I could quickly and simply move my domains I would, but it aint that easy. Thus, I want to put my complaints to an EUK senior manager.

Ben

I am sure a senior person from eUKhost will be more than happy to address your concerns. If the people you are getting through to in support are not understanding you properly then it might be a good idea to talk to a more senior person.

Don't forget, I know it must be really really frustrating for you but if you manage to explain exactly what you want and what you don't want I am sure eUKhost can make a note of it on your account so that you are not affected.

The only spam settings that I know that eUKhost update regularly are the global spam settings but this affects all customers on all servers and there doesn't seem to be a global problem so maybe the source of the problem is somewhere else.

As I said I am sure you will get an efficient response of someone senior at eUKhost so you can address your concerns directly to them and they can check everything is working fine on the eUKhost end of things.

Hello Ben,

Your account is hosted on Hostingcontroller and you will need to get your account moved on a Plesk server before end of this month. You can open a ticket for our windows support department and provide them with details of your account to get your account moved.

You can open a ticket on weekends as that would ensure minimal downtime for your website hosting. Downtime wont be more than 30 minutes in this migration process. They will take care of migration completely.

This seems like the best idea Ben. From what I hear, although I don't have personal experience of Windows, Plesk is a lot easier and more reliable than HostingController.

Hi Mark, why would I want to move my account to a Plesk server? I seem to recall that I started off on a Plesk account but it was moved to HostingController on EUK's recommendation and because of various technical reasons.

The Plesk move over is mandatory, because HC is so buggy these days and has been causing many troubles; it's probably what is causing the problem which you are experiencing. You do have the option to stay on a HC server, however this server will be unmanaged.

well, to be honest, EUK support staff told me themselves that they were changing the antiSpam settings on my account, and that is what caused my email to stop working - ie. everything was being treated as spam I assume.

How come I haven't been told about the HC to Plesk move before?

Please take a look at unplanned maintenance on 87.117.201.122 ( Windows Server ) - that is the problem which has sparked the move over. You should recieve an email regarding the move over sometime today.

When we switched from Plesk to HC then I was the only person who had better knowledge of Windows. Team we have right now includes highly experienced and Intelligent system admins and they know why Plesk is better. Plesk has improved a lot recently and HC has shown no signs of improvements in last 1 year.

I wont consider any control panel to be as good as cPanel but Plesk is the best option on windows.

Unless you are willing or considering a move to Linux so you can use cPanel, Plesk will now be your better option. If there are less bugs in it, which there is than HC, you are a lot less likely to run into problems while using and running your account. I assume that seen as though you said you changed to HC you have used Plesk before so hopefully it should be no problem for you to find your way around Plesk .

Like David, I have no experience with HC or Plesk but from all the problems in the last week eUK have had with one of their servers because of HC, the move to Plesk seems by far the best move. Also, if you could, I would recommend a move to linux hosting. The controller etc. seems far more stable and I've experience very little downtime at all. It's also much eaier to fix when something goes wrong.

Some of our customers like DavidAllen and Keith ( eSnail ) are happy with Plesk as they never had any such problem with Plesk. They switched from HC before few months and now they seem to be happy with our service. As I said our existing team has expertise on Plesk so things are well managed now.
