Default free domain & some questions

Hi,

I registered with eukhost yesterday, on the Gold plan. However, I didn't get the free domain, since I already had a domain name, and I wanted that one to be as the primary domain name (it was a .gr one, and I did the transfer by myself). Is it possible for me to get that free domain now?

Moreover, once I get it, I'll have two primary domain names. I've come to understand that I can host both of them (and even more, actually) on the same webspace. However, when I do host the second one on my webspace, its name appears normally as www.newdomain.com, or does it just redirect to newdomain.primarydomain.com and does the rest of the browsing from that url?

...and do I do this on the Addon Domains section of the cPanel?

By the way, congrats on your service, it seems like one of the best in europe.

Hello.

As long as you do not have links such as http://www.yourdomain1.com/index.php on your website hosting, and insteas just /index.php, then the second parked domain will not be redirected and will appear independant.

I'm sure eUKhost will still register your free domain for you, but you'll need to contact them about this issue - support [[at]] eukhost.com

Good Luck!

Yep, they did that for me as I didn't need one at the time.

And if you put your second website hosting in a seperate directory in the public_html folder and don't think to it in that folder but use the domain name i.e. www.my-2nd-domain.com rather than www.my-main-domain.com/secondwebsite, the search engines and nobody else will know it's hosted on the same server and the website hostings will remain totally independent.

I now have my new domain, and yes, it was very easy, just adding an add-on domain and pointing it to the correct path.

I have to applaud your excellent service once more.

Thank you..!

Glad everythings been completed satisfactorily for youself . I would always recommend using relative paths anyway, in all circumstances such as /index.php rather than mydomain.tld/index.php - most books teach relative paths as the way to go anyway and in your case it has the added advantage of also making your two website hostings seem independant like has been mentioned .
