Default Kinda Urgent!! : Why are some of my domains showing this?

Hi,

I registered a handful of domain names last week, all on the same day.

They are showing as registered to me within my Client area and I've just added one as an addon domain.

However, when I type any of them into a web browser, some sort of "holding page" for loans and credit advice is there!!!???

The nameservers in my Client area for the domains in question are showing :-

dns1.name-services.com

Upon performing a "WHOIS" check, I am showing up as the registrant, but the nameservers are showing the above and WHOIS also reports:-

Registration status:
Registration request being processed.
Name servers:
dns1.name-services.com
dns2.name-services.com
dns3.name-services.com
dns4.name-services.com
dns5.name-services.com

Just had a client on the phone asking why I have put this credit advice holding page up on the domain I bought for his company??!!

I've just submitted a support ticket, but I'm at work just now, so its a bit awkward and will be until I get home after 18:00hrs.

I've just changed the nameservers of one of them, the one I added as an addon domain, and uploaded a basic web page to it, but its still showing this credit page.

Can someone please look into this as a matter of urgency.

Thanks.

These are the default name server newly registered domains get and need to change to one that your web hosting account is using.

We have updated your ticket for this issue.
Please refer the support ticket and update it if you need any further assistance on this issue.

Thanks Matthew, the domain in question that I mentioned in the support ticket is now resolving properly and the under construction page is showing.

Is this a "new" thing that happens when a domain is registered?. This dns1.name-services.com thing gets entered as a default nameserver and I have to manually change it to point at my own nameservers?.

Also, when a domain gets registered and points at those default nameservers, will it always show this if someone types in the new domain in their browser? :-

When did this start happening?. I can't recall being told about this advertising "placeholder" page being applied to newly registered domain names, and it didn't happen for the domains I recently registered the previous week to the ones I now find the above html pages on?.

Also, I manually changed the nameservers in my Client area from the dns1.name-services.com to my correct nameservers and it didn't get rid of that page above, it still displayed.

I'm just off to change all the other ones that appeared to be affected by this to the correct nameservers to see what happens and if it indeed, gets rid of that page above.

Naturally, you can see how a customer who has had a domain name purchased for them for a new website hosting to be uploaded, would be concerned that this sort of advertising appears on their "website" even though the domain may only have been just registered and no files uploaded to it at the time.

The advertising page shown above has now vanished from all domains concerned after me manually changing all the nameservers.

After Sam Spading the domains though, its still showing this:-

Registration status:
Registration request being processed.

Why is that?.

Thanks.

Hi Gary,

Our billing system automatically assigns nameservers of respective shared server if customers order hosting along with the domain name. If you order only domain name then it will assign default nameservers of Enom which show their sponsored advertisement.

I have changed this setting now and you won't see the sponsored advertisement on any of your new domains. You will need to take care of assigning nameservers of your server while ordering new domains as that way you won't need to login and change your nameservers everytime your new domains get registered.
