Default Not impressed so far

Opened new account Friday 11th April 4:00pm. Soon up and running - seeing sites both thro' net and ftp.

Saturday 12th April 8:00am - in process of downloading via ftp link when suddenly lost connection. Over next 1.5 hours check that site not accessible via net or ftp.

Saturday 12th April 9:30am - still not accessible - post ticket and receive confirmation of receipt

Saturday 12th April 1:30pm - site still not accessible, no posts indicating server problem and no response to ticket. Called help-line. Spoke to a nice gentleman with a pronounced Indian accent who said the ticket was being investigated but could offer no additional information. A challenge about the acceptability of a server being down for over 5 hours with no feedback to the customer resulted in a similar response.

Watch this space.

Hi Ken,

I Apologize for delay in responding to this thread as it was in moderation queue. You should post such questions in Support forum only as posts in Network Status section are moderated and no one can read those unless it gets approved by some Administrator or Moderator.

Your account is hosted on Portland and I don't see anything wrong with Portland as we never got any sort of trouble reports for Portland from our Monitoring system. Nick replied to your ticket couple of times and there seems to be some sort of network problem on your end which is blocking your access to your website as the traceroute report you sent shows no errors and your website should work from your computer.

You can check from megaproxy.com or clear your local dns cache using command "ipconfig /flushdns" on command prompt to clear your DNS cache.

Try and change your DNS Resolver on your local machine as your existing resolvers may have some problem.

Just as a little thing, if you could post the website address, it also helps other people on here to see whether it is accessible from where they are.

Don't hold your breath, I've been here a year and I'm still not impressed.

In fact, I'm rather disappointed, Eukhost has been a huge letdown.

As Jonathan has said, posting your website address will help us assist the support team to see if your problem is local to your end or server end.

Manny, although I can understand your current frustration with the problems you are currently facing, it is unfortunately a fact of life that things arn't perfect and the odd problem will pop up from time to time - there isn't one person on these forums who hasn't had a problem with web hosting or technical difficulties from time to time but they always managed to get sorted - most of the time with great speed and effectiveness. I don't think this comment has particularly furthered the conversation or helped the original poster unless the problems you refer to on your post are also related to the Portland server and even then it is only a tenuous connection as you both appear to have different problems.

I'm sure that eUKhost will be able to resolve both of your problems very soon - but to fix these problems you've got to work with them! Its hard to do everything from one end as it doesn't account for problems inbetween client and server.

I myself have had problems with hosting from time to time. And this is with every single host I've been with. What sets eUK apart is the fact they are easily contactable and sort out issues out quickly.
