Default POP3 Email

Whenever one of my pop3 users send an email the recipient sees something along the lines of..

username@ merlin.eukhost.com; on behalf of; pop3user@ domain.co.uk

I'm told this is default and cannot be changed? why?

When you use the default email address configured on your account then that username belongs to the server and all its configuration settings are on server side. Email addresses which you add manually from your control panel below to your account only and they use your domain name instead of servers hostname.

If your username is important for you as an email address then add a new email address with the same username and choose a different password for it. Inform our support team to setup a symlink between the inbox of default account and newly added account as that way all emails coming on default address will be piped into the new mailbox.

Best option would be to get your username changed so that you can continue to use mailbox for the previously configured default mailbox.

??? now you've lost me. ???

The main domain is 'newnetters.co.uk'

I've setup 4 POP3 accounts with 4 different usernames from the Cpanel

user1@ newnetters.co.uk
user2@ newnetters.co.uk

You wont have this problem if you use user1 and user2 to send emails but if you send emails from craddock email account then the recipients will see craddock@ merlin.eukhost.com as the sender.

craddock is your cpanel username and that belongs to server. user1@ newnetters.co.uk & user2@ newnetters.co.uk belong to your domain name so the email address displayed to the recipients would be user1@ newnetters.co.uk &
user2@ newnetters.co.uk respectively.

I'm not sending from the default 'craddock' account I've set up individual POP3 accounts for myself and 3 other colleagues.

I'm seeing this problem on all 4 POP3 accounts.

This is what we see craddock@ merlin.eukhost.com; on behalf of;
s.craddock@ newnetters.co.uk

or

craddock@ merlin.eukhost.com; on behalf of;
gorilla@ newnetters.co.uk

Cause's untold problems in Outlook if trying to add the contact to your address book because instead of user@ newnetters.co.uk being added its
craddock@ merlin.eukhost.com that gets added.

In the headers it shows up as

Return path; gorilla@ newnetters.co.uk
Received: from craddock by merlin.eukhost.com with local-bsmtp (Exim 4.52)
id 1Gi8pM-0004Es-Ni
for username@ domainexample.co.uk

Link to image showing exactly what we see.... www. newnetters.co.uk/images/emails.jpg

Can you come on our livechat or give a call ?

This has never happened to any other customer so far and even we use out pop3 accounts in outlook. I am not sure what settings you have in your outlook as this is something which I have never seen while using pop3 accounts.

Also check if you have gone through following procedure or not :-

================================================== =================================================
1)Open Outlook.
2)On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
3)Click Add, and then click Mail
4)Type Your name in Display name as you would like it to appear.
5)Type your email address people use to send email messages to you.
6)Type newnetters.co.uk under incoming mail(POP3, IMAP OR HTTP) server as well as under Outgoing mail SMTP server.
7)Follow the instructions as above in the Internet Connection Wizard until you reach the Internet Mail Logon page
In Account name, type your POP3 service user name, followed by the domain, for example, someone@ newnetters.co.uk.
In Password, type the password associated with your POP3 service e-mail account.
9)Click on properties button.
10)Enable: My servers requires authentication in servers tab
11)Enable: Leave a copy of message on the server in advanced tab.

Yes. MSN is fine but you may need to show some patience on MSN as MSN can be handled by a single person only and we have regular MSN lovers on chat most of the time so response for your each question may come with 10 - 30 seconds delay

I'll phone later.

I am setting up 2 more MSN's right now. We will update support section of our website hosting with details of the newly setup MSN accounts.

We will be adding few more staff members in our support team as our livechat support team has got lil overloaded recently and we will need to improve strenth of livechat support to make sure that we keep on improving quality of our support.

Give me a call if you want. I am here for next couple of hours.

You are most welcome

Our MSN chat support person had escalated your problem to one of our senior system admins when you were waiting for a response. When you called me I had to do nothing but passon the message to you that your problem was fixed

We are working on improving communication on our livechat support and we have worked out couple of things to ensure that you always remain updated while communicating with someone on livechat.
