UK DataCenter?
Hi,
It's strange I could not find datacenter information on the main page. Maybe it is somewhere in the links and i might've seen the same though (considering the fact that I don't "pass" a host without seeing datacenter details). However, I suggest it should be put up in the main page where it's easily readable, unless you want to hide it.
Also, in my humble opinion, the site's front needs a redo. Give me a buzz if you guys need any help (paid or otherwise, both!)...Hmmm..I'm learning some sales tips

Hello IJ,
We were using a USA based datacenter till 2005 but from Jan 2006 we managed to get a great deal on bandwidth in London and we started filling servers in our London based facility. Our company is Durham based but we setup servers in rapidswitch facility in London.
We have our private subnet and private cage for our servers. We also have dedicated staff to take care of on website hosting problems. I'll ask our developers to design one internal page to give datacenter information but if you think that you can make a better layout for the main page then you are most welcome to do so.
Add me in your MSN and send me a screenshot of your work. If you design something that will attract more potential customers then you will be paid good amount for your work.

Hi,
It was evident the datacenter was with Rapidswitch since I did some research myself before contacting sales. But I could not find the details mentioned on the website hosting. When a reseller comes, his first consideration is whether you're a NOC or a "reseller" yourself. If i don't see network details, I assume you're a reseller (which is actually not the case, but not everyone is as smart as me ). Hence my suggestion.
A website hosting is like a Girlfriend (or boyfriend )/soulmate in my opinion. Some people go for physical values while some, like me, go for internal assets. Or consider a car..some go for looks while others go for engine power. EUKhost is excellent apparently as far as internal assets are concerned, which is why I am communicating with you here now in the first place.
I would love it If I could help improve the external values as well. Thank you for the opportunity, will send some work soon, let actions speak louder than words.

Thats good to hear. Make sure that whatever design you make should be better than the existing one and it should not be like only you liking it.
I hope you can prove your potential.
I would like to mention one thing about our relationship with rapidswitch, Rapidswitch has improved a lot in last 2 years and now it has got 15gbps network which is altogether unbelievable in UK. Considering the facilities, power backup and network backup rapidswitch is best in UK. We have deployed our techs for onsite work so altogether it becomes a great combination.

Why not hold some sort of competition to design the front page or some of the themes for your website hosting or forums.

Yeah.
I'll need to talk to other members and figure what we can offer. We have good number of webmasters as our customers so the competition can go really well.
We will add a new thread on weekend to start a new competition.

Yup, I had that idea in mind too. But then greed overtook. Had I suggested the idea, I'd have lost the chances of earning a few bucks! Then I thought probably they'd see what I present first and if they (public jury) don't like the design, throw open the contest to others.
Anyway, I suggest one year of hosting added to the winner's account, equivalent to his/her current account value. This should be a win-win situation in my humble opinion.
But going by both the points above, I will always be at loss!

No problem IJ,
If you believe in your potential then you should not think of anyone else winning the competition.
1 year free hosting wont be a good option as that way we wont be paying anything to the winner. If someone is giving something to us which will bring more signups and attract more potential customers then the growth in revenues would be many times more than what a hosting account for 1 year would cost.
I'll work out something as we are also building game server section on our website hosting to launch game server hosting plans in coming few days. You should see a new post in offers section before coming Sunday.

I'll have a go....he says :P
What is it you want? Something made up (cos really if ya change ya homepage, then the rest of your website hosting would have to follow)
Do you just want the website hosting idea as a graphic? Any colour preferences?
Hope i can help
Anyone know where i can get free pictures for designs?

Changing design for more than 1000 indexed pages wont be easy task for us. Last time modified header of our website hosting which made the look and feel much better than previous design but changing whole website hosting is not a joke and one who would be doing this will take 10 - 15 days during which content of some pages would have changed.
This is the only reason I am worried about starting any competition as outcome of competition is not going to decide if we will change the design of main website hosting. Probablly design for forum would be good to go but we need some time to think on design for main website hosting.

Well ok, then i suggest,
Dont hold a competition, personally i think the website hosting is fine.
All that could be done is tidy up the home page a bit, like make the footer look nice, and have some kool good looking graphics to display your packages.
I think that if users wish to still offer designs they still should, but not in a competition format.

i think that the forums should be redesigned.
it's quite easy for anyone with vbulletin they can just make a template and save it for use on this form.

Good show Hallief!! This one is much better than the current homepage. However, using more soothing colours (replace green with lighter green) would add grace to your design further. Just an opinion...

For a first attempt its good i've neved gone near editing forum themes.
Its nice and subtle, just match the top (control panel menu bar bit) so it matches the lower colours nd it will look good
Top header pic just needs a touch more blending to make it match the back ground.
Personally i like it nice and simple, if i had vb i'd go for that as its nice and simple and is not harsh on the eyes.
Good Job

Hello Hallie,
Changing design of the main website hosting is not possible at the moment as Robert said that he wants to do it himself and it will take close to 1 month for him to do so if he gives 2 - 3 hours to it every day. Not sure if we really want to get it done right now as his time is more important for the business rather than design.
Not sure if I can convince him to get it done from someone else. I am considering some new themes for Forum but the new theme needs to be completely different so considering some themes available online.

Ok,well goodluck with that, i'll take it down but have it on my HD if needed.
The forum is basically fine as it is, its blue so you have a main theme relating to the rest of the website hosting.
