Default Webmail - Mail Manager

Sorry, but I've hunted high and low and I can't find any clear instructions on setting up Webmail - I've managed to create (I think) some Mailboxes - What's the difference between Admin and User in account type btw?
The accounts work with Outlook ok, but Webmail isn't co-operating - I keep getting "invalid or disabled user". Also, this page:

http://www.eukhost.com/new/support/faq/ehosting/2.php

Seems to show incorrect information - by trawling the forums I found and tried /mewebmail which gets me to the Webmail sign in screen, but then error messages above.

I'd be more than happy if someone could point me to the right part of the website hosting that has the instructions for this kind of thing - I can see there are some tutorials, but it's really difficult to determine which one is going to be the right one!

Thanks
Nige

**EDIT** - Sorry - I got into Webmail (didn't realise that I had to use the domain! - oops!) - But I'd be grateful for any pointers on the Mailbox types (eg: Admin/User).
**EDIT 2** I found the MailEnable options - and there the Admin/User options give a pointer as to the difference between mailbox types - however, many of the options are greyed out. If I return to the Control Panel and change a Mailbox from one to the other, the setting doesn't stick - I change one from Admin to user - the system confirms that changes have been made - when I go back and check - it's back to Admin!

Default web mail

Hello,

I am having much the same problem.

Retrieving mail with outside email software is not a problem, all works well.
However when trying www.domain.com/meadmin or www.domain.com/MEWebMail I get a Prompt pop-up box asking for "Enter username and password for '""' at www.domain.com.

Neither the account username and password nor the mailbox specific username and password are accepted.

Any information on how to access online mail would be most welcome.

Many thanks in advance.

I currently have a ticket open enquiring about this initial pop-up box. This should not be happening and I gave a domain as an example but support only sorted that domain. I have now sent a follow-up ticket trying to explain to support that this is a much larger problem as it affects all domains that I have and obviously other customers are having this problem also.

If you desperately wish to access your webmail then enter your username in the pop-up but without the domain - then you'll gain access to the MailEnable log in where you must then login with your username including your domain. Its ludicrous to have to login twice and I do wonder what goes through the heads of some support staff when they assume that such a fundamental problem must be an isolated incident.

Thank you esnail

I only tried to login with username and password but without the domain name and the login keeps coming back and I can't access online mail.

Since you have another ticket open I'll wait a while and maybe support will fix it for everybody ;o)

I have finally had a response from support - some 12 hours after I re-opened the ticket; it looks like all webmail website hostings on my package are now working fine - so hope yours are too.

We are aware of this problems and we have initiated migration of this server on another high configuration server. Data Transfer is quite slow for some unknown reason but we are on top of things.

During upgrade process control panel will face some problems but your website hostings, emails and databases will keep on working properly.

esnail, I opened a ticket this morning and I now get the login page for online mail however, the username and password are not recognized.

I'll wait till tomorrow since eUKhost is migrating to another server.
If it doesn't work then it will be another ticket I guess

BTW can someone explain the difference between Admin and User mailboxes ?

If nobody else uses the account does it make a difference which type is selected ?

The issue still persists, and I've heard nothing from eukhost for a few days.

The ADMIN setting means that the mailbox user could log in to the MaiEnable Admin website hosting and create groups and lists. There's a bug with the HC, in that if you Edit a Mailbox, the setting sticks at ADMIN. I submitted a ticket a while back, but if the speed of the migration is anything to go by, it will be a long time before a resolution!
