Default Windows server?

Is there a problem with the server my website hostings are hosted on? My website hostings have been down for around a total of 48 hours now in the last 3 days.

This also means I can't access my control panel, FTP or emails!

I did update a support ticket first thing this morning when I noticed it was down again, but I've not received any reply as yet.

Thanks.

You are hosted on our new windows server which was setup before 2 weeks and we got this server setup with RAID to avoid any hard drive problems.

We then realized that RAID works in a different way with windows servers as the main reason you choose RAID is to switch the drives in case of failure of one drive but in windows you cannot do anything when any of the drives fail or RAID fails.

Right now the RAID array in rebuilding on your server and it is taking more than expected time to rebuild. We are not allowed to login as Administrator in the server as the login is getting rejected due to incomplete rebuild of RAID. We are moving your data on our other windows server and DNS information will be updated from our end. You wont loose any data nor you will need to do anything from your end.

New server has been setup without RAID so similar problems should not occur again. We have daily backup configured using RebuildExpress and it makes incremental backup on remote location.

You are welcome !

Your IP address will change and everything will remain as it is. If you use IP address to login in control panel then new URL for cp login will be http:// 87.117.201.122:8077

Well things are slightly better now the website hosting is on a different server. I can access the control panel now...

I can't access my webmail to finish setting up my emails accounts, I get "The system cannot find the file specified. "

Also, when accessing any page the opens a database connection, I get "Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Unspecified error"

Nothing has changed regarding my code, and it did work fine on the other server, and also on my laptop.

I did raise a support ticket first thing this morning (around 7:30am) as my website hosting/email is now probably into its 72nd hour of being unusable

I've modified my page to start the database connections later so now it at least displays part of my page up to the point of the first database connection being opened.

So now it at least doesn't look like my website hosting has disappeared forever. But I am still having the same problem as reported in my ticket mentioned above.

That's strange - I run RAID on my home computer, which runs Windows, and I had a drive failure recently. It caused no problems whatsoever - it kept on running with the other drive, and eventually I replaced the drive, and it accepted it smoothly and rebuilt in the background. You should dig deeper here - there's nothing intrinsic to Windows that prevents RAID from working properly, and it's pretty important to run RAID.

Nothing has yet changed, its still not working, it's really frustrating, and I feel totally helpless. My ticket has not been updated since I posted in it at 7:30am yesterday.

I have no idea whats happening, and the only real update I see is about the Linux server hard drive, nothing about the Windows server that my website hostings are on.

I apologize for the delay in response. Your ticket was answered by Andy and he managed to sort your problem.

We tried sorting same problems yesterday but the solution came today.

You are most welcome

I would once again like to apologize for the initial delay in getting the solution yesterday itself.
