There's no need to waste that kind of money for a small message board like this. A new skin would be enough to make this place look a lot better.

How about a new contest, design a phpBB skin and win a years hosting?

more professional and secure, i agree. some people have been saying that phpbb is hacked easily, if you don't use the proper security modifications

PHPBB can be injected very easily and you need to keep on upgrading version of phpbb forum every other month to make sure that you have all the security tweaks updated. When you have a forum successfully running and good number of posts coming regularly then you need to ensure uptime and security for your forum.

VBulletin is a reliable forum software and most important feature of vbulletin is the automatic notifications of new threads and posts. We were fidning it difficult to make out if any new posts were added in other sections of forum when we had phpbb. Many customers never got reply for 2 - 3 days and that was making our support look bad.

Now we get notifications of all new threads and posts on our helpdesk and one of our staff members can easily jump into the forum to reply any new threads or posts.

thats good. fast reliable suport is someting that every webmaster looks for. $185 for vbulletin is a pretty good investment in general for a hosting company.

Well its in Vb now

Last time I had to purchase Vb I thikn it was £120 which for a large company based BBS is nothing but if you rtalking about a small board then its not worth the justification.

Thats true, but if you are looking to make the forum successful by answering threads before people logout then its better to use vbulletin.

On phpbb we were replying next day and people never replied back to those threads. Loosing some bucks for this important feature is better than creating wrong impression on potential customers.

Hello Gordo,

eUKhost decided to upgrade to vBulletin because of the auto-update of new topics posted in the sales and support sections which is convenient for a fast reply from the team.
