Configure the directory of a website as an application in IIS

Goto start => Run and execute the command inetmgr to open IIS => expand the websites option in IIS in the left pane . Expand the website whose directory you want to configure as an application . You will see a list of directories under the website , right click the directory which you want to configure as an application and click properties , you will get a dialogbox as below



click create and ok . Thats it the directory has been created as an application . You can also give the directory the neccasary permissions from the execute permissions dropdown box and also give it a dedicated application pool or a shared application pool from the application pool dropdown box .
