Displaying an image

Hi. I am novice when it comes to writing web pages. I am placing a simple holding page on the web website hosting while we develop a more sophisticated website hosting. I can't appear to display an image. I have located the image in the 'images' folder and haver referenced it in the html (short and long versions). The page works perfectly well on my pc, but not when uploaded to the server. Any clues as to where I might be going wrong?

Make sure you have uploaded the image to the server into the correct folder and that the spellings are correct?

If you leave a URL for your website hosting we could have a look and identify the problem that way.

Thanks for the response, but I have solved the problem now. The suffix for the file name had changed to upper case on uploading. Changing it back to lower case did the trick.

Just as an added note when referencing images and other pages in your website hosting. Always use the short version (the relative version) if possible as it causes much less problems in the long run.

For example, rather than www.mydomain.com/images/picture.jpg use images/picture.jpg
