As an alternative you can also install a guestbook through Fantastico if you are on a Linux based server.

I use Viper and find it really easy to use, has loads of nice features and seems quite secure so I can definitely recommend it.

Sourceforge.org and HotScripts.com are the best places to find free guestbook scripts. I'd recommend a guestbook that uses frames which prevent automated spammers, etc.
