How do I correctly publish ASP.NET apps to eUKHost from VS2005?

I have an app that runs fine on my PC ( a button on a page for test purposes)

I have made a vitural directory on the server, gone to publish to that directory using VS 2005's publish feature, when I check my file manager on my account there is only a \bin folder in that directory and the page wont load.
I have tried hosting it as a virtual dir and normaly and still no joy.. but then it seems all but a precompiled .dll are missing.

Publishing to and hosting from my local system works fine.

Are there any step by step guides to publishing to eukhost from VS2005?

Now I tried publishing to the WWW directory rather than www/whatever
And it placed the aspx page in there... but it would not run.
Then I uploaded an app that uses AJAX for .NET and it uploaded nothing but the \bin directory and precopiled code.....

I'm hoping someone can prod me in the right direction

Could you please let me know your domain name so that I can confirm the server and the settings on it for your domain. Also please let me know the details you have been using to publish your pages on the server.

Like i said, I could not get this to work with a simple button on an ASP.NET page nor an AJAX web page.

I would suggest you to publish your website hosting with target location as:

http:// jamesdoig.net/

Also do you get any errors while publishing the page? If yes, then please paste them here.

now my mainpage is just a directory listing to a \bin folder
No errors while publishing on any of my attempts.

Our system admins will need to look into it as it becomes quite uncomfortable for them to solve complicated technical problems through forum.

Some clies for you Checklist:
a) On remote server (eulhost) Frontpage extensions should be enabled
b) Check and set Frontpage Ext. Service - executables are usually not allowed to be uploaded by default
c) Check folder permissions
d) Check your .NET version
e) Check for web.config file for misconfiguration

Use deploy feature of VS which will copy all required/dependency files as well.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the FrontPage manager.
Then i tried copying the files with VS's "copy web site" option and I get a whole bunch of errors.

All starting with
Could not find schema information for the element ...

Done: a) On remote server (eulhost) Frontpage extensions should be enabled

Thanks guys I finaly sussed it..

I had to map a network drive to the my ftp address.
Publish the project localy
Then drag and drop the files from my C:\ to my mapped drive...

Not as nice and convenient as using "publish" undewr VS2005
