Default phpBB 3.01 Permissions

Hi all,
Is there some kind soul out there who actually understands the phpBB 3.01 forum permissions and would be willing to explain to me just what to do please ?
[I'll explain in more detail my dilema if I get a response]
I know that Global is the whole forum and Local applies to each board but I get so confused by them all I'm going round in circles.
Thanks,
Jon

Hi all,
I managed to sort my original problem but still have a few questions for you.
I have a category that I want for Moderator/Admin use, I'd like it to be kept invisible from everyone but those groups.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Jon

YOu just need to go into the forum setting and make only Admins and Moderators groupls able to view and post in it. I have mine set up that way and no users can see it.

Got to Admin
Forums
Forum Permissions
On the drop down menu on the right hand side select the forum you created or want to make to Mods Admins

Click Submit
In Groups, ad the Groups you want to give permissions to

Default Global Mods/Mods

Dear Brian,
Thanks for your help, it's appreciated believe me !
If I may take a liberty and ask another question please ?
I plan on having 1 Global Mod and 3 ordinary mods.
I can see how to give permissions for the global but how do I give the ordinary mods theirs ?
I hope this makes sense ?
Thanks,
Jon

Default Bots or not ?

Hi Brian,
Thanks very much for your last post, I didn't realise it was that easy ?!
It may sound like a miracle but I think I'm starting to get the hang of permissions, I know they all have a simple 'tree' structure but just seeing all the variations confused me at first.

Can I pick your brains again please . . .
As you know there is a list of bots available, I have a basic [very !] understanding of what they do but not what I do with them.
Do I keep some or all or delete ?

Thanks again !
Jon
