SSL doesn't work
I've just setup osCommerce on my website hosting. Then i discovered the https:// can not be accessed. error coded -12263
I have generated a private key and a certificate using SSL manager in cpanel.
How to make SSL work? |

If there isn't one already, i suggest a tutorial for users who wish to setup their own SSL.

SSL instalaltion through cpanel doesnt work. It has to be done through WHM only.
You will need to open a ticket for our support team to install the certificate for you. Please make sure that you have already purchased dedicated IP address for your SSL domain as SSL certificate wont work without dedicated IP address.
Dedicated IP address can be ordered from https://www.eukhost.com/mb/order/orderwiz.php?v=8 and support ticket can be opened from http://support.eukhost.com

i thought there was shared SSL came with the plan? or it needs an dedicated ip to work anyway?
is a dedicated ip for ￡20/year?
what does google indexing do?

Shared SSL comes free with all shared hosting packages but to use the shared SSL you will need to redirect secure URL of your cart to the secure URL which wont be on your domain name but it would be something like :-
https:// concorde.eukhost.com/~yourusername/cart/
If that would work for you then you can take a look at Shared SSL Certificates Added. to know shared SSL path for your server.

Dedicated IP will cost £20 per year and if you want it on monthly basis then it would be £2 per month.
If you purchase the SSL certificate from us then the dedicated IP address is free for you. Google indexing will help you to get your website hosting listed on google. Google will add your website hosting to its database of website hostings to be crawled and search results of your website hosting will be displayed as per the searches made by people.

Google auto crawls all website hostings n e way, but to be sure you can submit,

got it sorted now thnx, my oscommerce config needed tweaking . thnx.
for those of you wanting to use the shared ssl with Oscommerce this is my configure.php. substitute the puma.eukhost.com/~secret to match your own.
All images will be pulled from secure and therefore show in both secure and http
