Testing email

How do I test if my email is working properly. I recently installed a forum and when a visitor registers, he or she would receive an activation email.

But it is not working for me?. Any help is appreciated

Have you enabled sendmail option from admin section of your forum ?

You should enable sendmail option to make emails work from your forum. If you have enabled SMTP email option then you may need to go through complicated steps to make it work.
