Default Back up Service Working or Not?

Hi

I bought some backupsapce from you and can't tell if it is working or not. Where will my Daily back ups be - they do not appear do be in the daily folder (www. constructionjobhunt.com). I would like to be able to check to make sure everthing is backing up OK. I was also told that I would receive an email when a daily back up was done but am yet to receive anything. Please advise. Thanks

Hello Tara,

I have logged in on Backup server using your FTP account information and I could verify backup of your web contents, emails as well as database. I am not sure why the email notification is not working but that part can be sorted by our CRO in the morning.

Please use the login details that were sent to you in welcome email for backup service and you will see 2 folders for daily and weekly backups. You can check all your data and databases from there.

Default Done as you suggest - only databases?

Hi

I have done as you suggest - go in to the daily folder where there are 5 folders - public_html, MYSql, Mailman, Homedir and cron - the only one which contains any content I can see is mySQL. I can't open the folder within the mySQL folder labelled Tue. please can you tell me where my files other than databases are?

You are not able to access latest backup as the permission on it is of root user and it wont allow you to see it unless we manually set it to your username.

Allow me some time to get a permanent solution to this as the backup is done by the root user so root will have its permissions on the backup. We need to setup a script that will change permission after completion of backup.

Script has been implemented for email notification as well as user permission. You can verify using FTP login details of your backup space.

I've verified your backup account once again and I can see a daily as well as weekly folder over there which has full backup of your account. It seems that you are looking for the backups inside some other folder while the backup is there in the root of your account.

Message me if you want me too guide you through the process.

Default Thanks

Thanks all is working ok now, but I now have to access the space via SFTP rather than FTP via Fetch. Previously I connected via fetch and FTP and could see all my files, I did the same thing yesterday and it appeared nothing was there, but with SFTP it works now.

Thanks for your help.

Some documentation on the back up service would be very useful in the future.

Our backup service has not been so popular till now as none of our existing customers have had any kind of data loss or similar problems so far and they wont have any problems as we maintain 2 remote backups of all servers including the vps nodes.

As of now we've implemented complete automation in our backup service so there wont be any need for documentation as the welcome email for backup service will explain everything to the customers.

Default Sounds good

I appreciate there are always teething problems with a new service. Thanks for sorting my back up out
