Catch All - Email
Catch All Email
If I set an address to catch all, will this include email forwarders and the main email account? or will it exclude these and let them continue as normal?

I believe that it is only addresses that don't have a mailbox or forwarder. I will give a word of caution though as catch all can be a god send to spammers and hell for receiving spam (as spammers will just randomly try email addresses) so unless you have to enable it, I would try to find another method to do what you want to.

Id like to setup a mailbox purly for the spam using the catch all, the reason being I hate all the emails q'ing up in the mail folder, which I have to remove every now and then.

I would guess you'd be best just making sure your spam filtering software e.g. spam assasion is setup to auto-delete spam and isn't set too high.

You must have some huge numbers of emails as I'm running a semi-dedicated with about 15 domains with numerous email addresses and I get practically no spam into boxes even though it's received by the server...

deleting 800 emails from the mail queue is absolutely nothing. Allow me to go through your server and I will implement some settings to reduce amount of spam you are getting.

Catch-all will only make the situation worse, as if some spammer somehow has used a legit sending e-mail address, they'll know that your e-mail hasn't bounced and will send you lots more.
You can configure SpamAssassin effectively with additional rule files. I currently have custom rule files which blocks 99% spam with no false posotives. Although aswell as SpamAssassin, you can also get your server to check mail against RBL lists etc which will block mail before it even reaches the server if it is spam.

The RBL checking is pretty effective and combined with SpamAssasin I get very little spam.

You can do this from the exim configuration file in WHM. If you want, I can configure it for you along with SpamAssassin to something which blocks 99% spam with no false posotives.
