Default CP Protection ?

Hi all,
This morning when still half-asleep, I tried to login to my CP.
I made 5 attempts each time with the wrong password [I could'nt for the life of me remember it and was too lazy to go upsatirs to find it in my diary] with the result that when I made my 6th try I could'nt access my CP login panel or any of my domains.

So, is there some form of protection with CP login and if so how come I was unable to access any of my sites even via ftp ?

It is now working after I contacted a very helpful operator via Tech Help chat, the whole operation including having me up and running again took less than 15 minutes !!!
I am very impressed !!!!
Regards,
Jon

Yes - after 5 failed login attempts your IP address will be banned from the server to help prevent brute-force attacks.

Yep. This is the server firewall blocking you. Support can go on and clear your IP if there's a problem.
