Default Email address ?

Hi to all,
I'm completely confused and would appreciate some help please.
I've created a few email addresses but can't find the right way to log into them from my browser.
They're up and running and I can access them from the CP and I've also password protected them but how do I access them otherwise ?
I've tried http://myname@wysifa.net/email and variations on that theme but no luck, can anyone help please ?
Many thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,

You can easily check email using one of the available web mail clients.

What is web mail? Web mail is a web based mail client you can use on any browser to access all your email.
Email is typically checked using a desktop mail application such as Outlook Express.
cPanel includes both Horde and Squirrelmail as available web based mail clients.

Open any one the following links & login using your username & password [myname@wysifa.net & it's password]

http://wysifa.net/webmail
http://wysifa.net:2095/
http://somerset.eukhost.com/webmail
http://somerset.eukhost.com/2095/
http://91.186.0.7/webmail
http://91.186.0.7:2095/

Or use this as an alternative to login to webmail from cPanel itself:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Find the email account you want to use to check mail via the web mail client in the "Current Accounts" table.

2. Click on the icon in the "Access Webmail" column.

3. When the page loads, enter the password associated with the email address you chose in Step 1 above.

4. Click on the "Login" button.

5. A new window will open stating that you are logged in as the email account you chose in Step 4 above.
When the page loads, you will have the option to use either Horde or SquirrelMail as your web based email client.

Default Wow, thanks !

Hi Rock,
Thanks for the addresses, all of which work and take me to my email.
Just one thing puzzles me . . .
The user name and password were the same as for my CP and yet I'm sure I set up a different set of details via password protect on the mail directory.
I take it that's a different route ?
Thanks again, especially for the quick response, incredible !
Jon

Hi Jon,

Thank you for your kind words. I too am a bit confused with your questions.
Protecting the mail directory with password protection isnt going to help.
You need to login to cPanel > Mail > Configure mail accounts > Add new email account eg: test@wysifa.net.
Access that specific email account using http://wysifa.net/webmail with test@wysifa.net as username & it's respective password.
In short, you can create multiple mailboxes & access them from the same URL ie: http://wysifa.net/webmail
Please let us know if you need any further help into this. Also, I'd recommend you to place a ticket or email our support desk [support@eukhost.com],
you'd receive faster responses that way, as we have little staff to look after the forum replies at this time of night Hope you can understand...

Don't forget you can also use webmail.YOURDOMAINHERE.YOURTLDHERE. Thats what I use when I'm not using Thunderbird.

Hi to all,
Many thanks for all replies, it's appreciated !
I have rechecked what I've done and if I do a step by step hopefully you'll understand better ?!
I went to CP/Security/Password Protect Directories and then chose from the list of folders mail.
I had'nt realised that it also protected every other folder under it in the list so now need a way to un-protect it if possible ?

What I'd wanted was a way to protect my email accounts when I logged in from outside, it would appear this is done anyway as I can only access them with my CP user name and password.
Many thanks,
Jon

Normally password protection will affect every subfolder and file below it. I am not too sure whether there is any way to stop this though.

All your e-mail accounts will be protected by default with the username and password that you supply when they are set up so there is no need for you to manually password protect the accounts. This would just add a second layer of unnecessary password protection as well as causing yourself the other problems that you are encountering.

Hope that helps .
