Default How make sales page for friend to change/update?

Hi,
Hopefully someone can give me a bit of feedback. A friend has asked me to design a site for his fireplace restoration business. The bulk of it should be no problem for me - I'll be designing it in Serif's WebPlus10. However, he wants the site to include an 'items for sale' page which will show images and prices for individual fireplaces he currently has available for purchase. This is the only part of the site which he will need to update on a regular basis each time an item is sold or a new one needs to be put up for sale. He doesn't really want a shopping cart as such where customers buy online. I need a method for my friend to be able to change images/prices etc to that part of the site only - bearing in mind he has no web design experience. I'd be grateful is anyone could point me in the direction of something which might fit the bill....the simpler the better.
Is there anything in Fastastico that would fit the bill? Is it unavoidable that he would need to learn how to compress/size his images etc from his camera to make them suitable for browsing?...and also have knowledge of ftp?
Maybe I could create an i-frame on the main site which could display his page - but what simple prog could he design the page in?
Ideally I'd like a situation where my friend can change/update his side of things without me having to do anything with WP10 each time he updates his items for sale.
Thanks
Wes

I would recommend a CMS for this - unless you are good at writing apps in a web language and you can create your own simple interface.

To be honest - the shopping cart option would probably be the easiest, especially for your friend .

Hi.
Thanks for the feedback. A shopping cart isn't really an option. He restores old fireplaces and they sell for quite a bit of money - so he really just wants potential buyers to see the them online - then they would want to visit his premises to see them before buying. I was after a simple way of him just adding pics and prices to a page. I'm sure I've seen a program or online facility somewhere where you can login and access a page and work on it, then save to your server.
Thanks again
Wes

It definitely sounds like a job for a simple CMS then . Or a site builder - theres two in fantastico. The best being Pro Edition and very easy to use even for a novice. The only disadvantage is that you have to pay after the 14 day trial. You can get leased versions as well as lifetime versions.

Hope that helps .

Hi David,
Thanks for that - I'll take a look at Pro Edition.
Cheers

No problem. Always happy to help. I was quite impressed with Pro Edition and it also gives scope to your friend to become more involved and do additional things if and when he should want to.

Hopefully Pro Edition will suit your and your friends needs but if not then feel free to add to this post. I would love to hear what you think of Pro Edition and whether it is suitable for you
