my original website is www. directdigitalimage.com

I am wanting to change all that to Content manegement although I'm going off this idea now

the website I am practising on is www. jaydis.com/joomla

I cant upload the template I wanted and I cant rewrite config files coz of the security setting eukhost have changed on their server.

TBH the main thing i want to change is the gallery. the hompage doesnt really need much but I want the ability to have registered members only to view the clients galleries as a lot of my work is childrens portraits and needs to be more private for reasons that shouldnt be an issue but sadly is.

I also want to creat & host a website that advertises local wedding services and the like and host a website for printing customers own digital images onto canvas and sell my own landscape photography work as framed prints. I also want to have a model portfolio website as I do a bit of glamour photography and a few models have shown an interest in buying a website from me promoting them.

So I need as much practice as possible!!

Joomla is a bit tough. I had it for a while and it took me a while to figure it out,.
Just keep at it and you will get it - also get fire fox and open the new created page in it- don't use explorer.

Hi,

I'm a bit of a Joomla expert, looking to move back to Eukhost. I was with them when they only had US based hosting and no VPS.
I'd be interested in knowing which Eukhost packages you're all running on. I'm considering the mid range VPS for around a dozen Joomla websites.

Cheers,
Chris

Jaydis, was just browsing through the forum topics and spotted this — as it seems you'll be returning from your hols tomorrow you might get to read this shortly ...

Have you yet found and tried using Wrapper to display your regular pages within the Joomla framework? Login the backend — you can create custom menus for display to registered users only (in Menu > Menu Manager) and to add a new menu item to a custom menu in Menu Manager select the menu itself: Menu > yourmenu > New > New Menu Item > Miscellaneous > Wrapper. Name the Menu item e.g. Portraits, add the Wrapper Link e.g. http://www.jdfoley.co.uk/portrait/index.html — set the other options for display paying particular attention to the Parameters; don't forget to Publish! Hope this helps?
