I think this has been discussed before and although I can't remember exactly what was said I think the overall conclusion was that it would be very hard to do and it is just easier for yourself and others to use the https://www.yourdomainname.com/webmail link as there is no specific disadvantages to doing this. In place of the form you could have a link to this address which would bring up a secure username / password dialog.

Maybe someone else might be able to give you a bit more guidance if you are determined to create your own customised log in form.

Hope that helps .

That could be a solution but surly the standard log in is by far the easiest and most secure way to do it. What does a log in page do that the log in dialog doesnt?

Yes I knew that but I mean, there is no real difference. Yes one is flat on the page and one is a pop up dialog box but is that really an issue? For the time and effort it will take to create a custom page it seems like a complete waste of time to me.

I suppose. I am just taking it from the way I see it. Some people feel less comfortable when a pop up dialog is used rather than a log in page type system. It's just from a system point of view and implementation it is 10 times easier to use the dialog.

However, if people want a log in page and feel more comfortable with it then I suppose you've got to try and deliver.

Good luck upineter on setting up your log in page. I'm afraid I don't think I can give any more tips regarding it but I hope some of the information that I have given in this thread has been useful to you.
