Default Mail forwarding to multiple addresses

Hi,

How do you setup a multiple mail alias forwarder using Cpanel.

e.g.

ops@mydomain.com

gets forwarded to more than one e-mail address,

rod@mydomain.com
jane@mydomain.com
freddy@notherdomain.com

Thanks

Paul

Multiple email addresses are setup in forwarding using a comma ( , ) delimiter.

You can forward ops@mydomain.com => rod@mydomain.com,jane@mydomain.com,f...erdo main.com

have you tried the comma delimiter method? I would imagine it'd be something similar in Plesk, comma or semi-colon or something.

Esnail hi, I'd tried every delimited method I could but it's not that. I have just found out a way to do it, am not sure if it is the quickest way.

I have set up a new account called multiple@domain.com but have disabled the mailbox and enabled the mailgroups settings. Then in the mailgroup page, I added all the email addresses I want messages to go to. Finally I redirected the original email address (info@domain.com) to the multiple@domain.com.

Now when I send to info@domain.com, the email gets delivered to all the accounts specified in the multiple@domain.com mailgroup!!

I don't have experience in plesk but you might be able to set up forwarding to one account at a time i.e. have three entries for the same incoming address, each going to a different forwarding address.

This is how it has to be done in Plesk. If you want us to do it from our end then we will need to edit your mailboxes in mailenable administrator and make similar settings.

That is unfortunate with Plesk - maybe a change to Linux and cPanel is in order? .

Maybe we can do something to have a Linux Server with Qmail, MySQL and control panel while it would use windows server for asp.net and mssql. We have implemented such solution for few customers but nothing so far for shared hosting.

Quality of our Windows Shared Hosting Service has improved a lot recently and hopefully our company will be "The Best!" in windows hosting by the end of this year.

Thats a good solution - that definitely shows eUKhosts dedication there to set up a complex solution such as that. When everyone migrates to Linux and Microsoft is dissolved there won't be these problems .

I have been trying to do this on a cpanel setup on a linux server and if I use anything but a space as the delimiter cpanl rejects it as an invalid character.

Cpanel accepts the space as a delimiter but the autoforwarder does not work

and if you try and trace the address you get no output at all.

We have such forwarders setup for more than 50 people and we have setup this using simple comma ( , ) delimiter. it should be like xyz@eukhost.com,abc@eukhost.com,pqr@eukhost.com and so on.

That is exactly what I have tried I am on the host islander and the domain is dibbletree.com

but If I create an entry say
Code:
abc@dibbletree.com
and put its auto-forwarding to be say
Code:
 asdf@dibbletree.com,zxcv@somewhere.com,abc@anotherplace.com
it always rejects this with the message invalid character in the address if I replace the comma for a space the list is accepted but of course does not work

I did this from SSH and then I checked forwarders section in your control panel and it shows 3 separate forwarders for abc@dibbletree.com. I think something has changed in this x3 skin but if it works then there's nothing much we should be concerned about.

from cpanel you can setup multiple forwarders for same email address. if you check it from SSH then all those forwarders show on same line but they show on separate lines in cpanel.
