Problems !
Hi all,
I'm having problems but I'm not quite sure how to explain it.
I have created 2 new domains recently,
1 for a Forum [see sig, Cowcare]
and,
1 for a Nucleus blog [see sig, blog].
Now, whenever I try to download a graphic file [gif] all goes well until I try to show it in either the forum or the blog.
It will show in a preview but won't actually appear in any article if that makes any sense.
I've checked my permissions [777] but don't know what to do next.
Could it be a MySQL problem ?
Thanks,
Jon

Jon, Can you give a try now, we've disabled mod_sec for your domains. If you still face the same problem, email us with the exact links, we'd quickly sort it out for you.

Dear Jack L,
I should be cursing as I have spent over 5 days [30+ computer hours], have written countless posts to various forums and generally pulled the last of my remaining grey hairs out in anguish as I tried to do what should be some simple jobs.
Instead of which . . . OMG ! Thankyou so much, I have got to be the happiest man in the world. Just to see my creation [Cowcare] as I want it is, well . . . There is a god . . . !
Can you explain what was wrong then please and this example just proves to me how right I was to pick eUK !! No messing about, no "fanny", you found the problem and fixed it !
[vzAddict please note, genuine happy customer!]
Once again thanks so much,
Jon

Hi JackL,
I did a google on "mod_sec" and is it right it's to do with mod security and Apache ?
I don't really see how it affects the operation of the SMF forum wysiwyg editor or the download of picture files if they have the required permission though so would appreciate some info.
I never realised just how complicated all these different programmes are and how one can affect the other, very interesting !
Anyway, thanks again,
Jon

It's a minefiles behind the scenes when you get all the programs having to run together to get things to work!
Apache is what makes all the html work and so the forum will be based on that. I'm sure someone will give you a more precise answer as to what the problem was but it will be that apache couldn't do something it needed to causing the problems I would think.

Thank you very much... & apologies for replying late. Yup, indeed, this was a mod_sec issue... which was fixed by inserting the 3 magical lines to the .htaccess file of your domain. If you'd have provided us the exact links earlier, we'd have got it fixed quickly Remember to give them out via a private message either or open up a support ticket & we'd get it resolved ASAP... I'm glad that everything is working fine you
