Default Setting up Mailing lists (mailman)

Could someone give me advice as to how to set up a working Mailing list via the CPanel facility.

At the moment I've created a mailing list, I've added myself as admin & mod, and I've subscribed myself and a couple test accounts to the list. Yet when I attempt to send an email to the list (I assume listname@mydomain.com) no email gets generated to the other accounts.

Thus I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong or whether there could be a problem with how Mailman (the mailing list) is set up. Do I need to create email accounts for the list and it's extensions (list-subscribe@ etc.) and if so where do they need piping to?

Thanks in advance, as it's rather doing my head in.

Hi There,

You may want to read http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cpanel/cp...ser-Manual.htm

It also has Mailman Details.

I noticed the manual mentions...
Quote:
Every mailing list has a set of email addresses that messages can be sent to. There's always one address for posting messages to the list, one address that bounces will be sent to, and addresses for processing email commands. For example, for a mailing list called mylist@example.com, you'd find these addresses:
* mylist@example.com
* mylist-join@example.com
* mylist-leave@example.com
* mylist-owner@example.com
* mylist-request@example.com
* mylist-bounces@example.com
* mylist-confirm@example.com
There's also an -admin address which also reaches the list administrators, but this address only exists for compatibility with older versions of Mailman.
None of these email addresses currently exist, and I'm not sure if I need to create these manually or whether mailman somehow creates them. If I have to create them then presumably I'd need to set up some sort of filter for mailman to handle them.

It appears the relevant email addresses are automatically created.

The weird thing is that emails sent around the 25th to the mailing list have only just arrived in my inbox this morning, and are dated 25th. So I'm wondering where they've been these past few days, as they've not been showing in the email inboxes on CPanel.

A couple fresh tests this morning and it's emailing fine. Oh well.
