Cool Tutorial-Adding and Removing Email Accounts in Your C-panel

Adding and Removing Email Accounts in Your C-panel

You can add email accounts to your main account through your C-panel. Some people add more email accounts to give their friends or family an account. You could also add more accounts so that different types of email can be sent to the different addresses. You could have an email account where people could send email if they encounter problems with your website, for example admin@yourdomain.com. Then you could create another account for people who wish to email you articles, for example articles@yourdomain.com. This is just a couple of examples of why you would want to add email accounts.
Your Hosting company decides how many email accounts you can have. When you login to your C-panel it will tell you under General account information > Email Accounts, how many email accounts you can create.

Adding an Email Account:

Step 1 - Login to your C-panel.

Step 2 – On the Interface page click the link that says Mail. It should be the
first option on the page.

Step 3 – On the Mail Manager Main Menu page click Add/Remove/Manage Accounts.

Step 4 – At the bottom of the Mail Account Maintenance page click on the Add Account link.

Step 5 – On the Add Mail Account page fill in the information in the fields.
In the email field type in the username you want, for example, admin.
Type in the password that you wish to use for that email account.
In the Quota field you can set how many megabytes of space that you want to allow for that email account.

Step 6 – Click Create.
The next page will tell you that your account was created and it will give you the username and password for that account. Keep this information in a safe place.. If you plan on having a few email accounts I would put the usernames and passwords in a safe place so that you don’t forget your username and password to each account.

Removing an Email Account:

Step 1 – Login to your C-panel.

Step 2 – Click on the Mail link.

Step 3 – On the Mail Manager Main Menu click the Add/Remove/Manage Accounts.

Step 4 – On the Mail Account Maintenance page find the email account that you want to delete and click the Delete button beside it. (You cannot delete the main account)
The next page will tell you that you have successfully deleted the account. It will display the name of the account.

Goodluck!
