I don't know which is the root folder to upload to because there isn't a folder called public_html. Could someone help please?

You can either upload from public_html or www.

Yes, but there isn't a folder on my FTP named public_html. I do have a folder called www but then it has several more folders inside it. Do I just upload to the www folder then regardless of the other folders and files inside it?

Yes, just upload any files you want for your website under the 'www' directory.

As long as you get it in the www directory you will be fine.

As I remember it www / public_html can be used synomously as they both point to the same content. I am sure that if you upload to www it is the same as uploading to public_html and that if uploaded to one it will appear under each other.
