Default Whitelisting

Hi all,

I have just recently taken out two hosting packages with yourselves. The first one was for work, and I was so impressed I took out a second one for personal use (I use it to help my friends from Uni keep in touch, and share photos). Firstly I'd like to say how please I am with the service so far, everything has been simple (in fact I got a shock when I was using phpmyadmin to upload an existing database - it overwrote the one I had created, I thought this was going to cause problems, but it ended up working perfectly and saving me time), and I'm really impressed with the latency (lack there of) and bandwidth.

Anyhow I'll get to the question now:
Is it possible to whitelist IP addresses? I can see the blacklist option, but for the work package I would like to whitelist IP's instead.

We are using the hosting service for a flyspray installation, so the security is not a critical issue, however it would be embarrassing for someone to get hold of a list of bugs in our software. Additionally whitelisting is something that we and the customer are familiar with.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

By default all IPs are whilelisted to browse your website or public viewable links on your website. Do you want to block rest of the word from accessing certain sections of your website and allow only few ?

Please clarify this in detail as that will help our system admins to come up with better solution for your requirements.

Yes I want to block everyone by default and only allow those who I have specified. i.e. the opposite of blacklisting.

Was there any further development of this?

Should I open a support request?

Yep. Please open a ticket on our helpdesk as our senior system admins work through our helpdesk only.

You can provide me a ticket number to followup with them.

Er.. I'm being stupid here... I do this with the "Submit a Support Request" button in cPanel?

If so I get the message: "The System Admin has not configured this feature yet."

The "Call ID" is 408.

A duplicate was created for some reason, but I have closed that.
