I just purchased an ADVENT 4211C netbook and I couldn't connect to my wireless network; its status was constantly "Acquiring network address" and sometimes it'd connect but notify me that there'd be limited or no connectivity. It seems after doing the below steps the problem has been fixed.
First I installed the new wireless drivers for the netbook (and this will also fix problems for users having
wireless connection drops) (
click here to download it). Then once installed go to Start menu -> Right click on
My Computer and select
Properties. From there click on the
Hardware tab and select the
Device Manager button. In the device manager next to Network adapters click the + icon to open up the list of all Network adapters and the one labeled
802.11b/g mini card Wireless Adapter #1/#2 - right click on that and select
Uninstall. Once its uninstalled, go to Action ->
Scan for hardware changes from the menu and it'll automatically install the wireless driver back...it should now connect by double clicking on the wireless icon in the taskbar (the one that looks like a white wireless signal) and choosing your wireless network from the Available Network tab.
Once done, it should work!
Note: The reason I posted it here is due to the forums high Google ranking :P will help users searching for a solution
