Annoying Microsoft Update Problem
I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this because it is really frustrating me now!!
Basically I have automatic updates set to do on my XP computer and all has gone fine since I got the computer. I noticed one day about a month ago that the new updates hadn't been done and it was a few days after their release. I just thought the automatic updates had failed or something so I went to the Microsoft Update website hosting to do it manually. It finds updates to do but whenever I click install it fails every single new update and it is so frustrating now!! I have searched the Internet for hours to find solutions, tried uninstalling certain updates that have solved others problems but to no avail.
I am on the verge of crying at the moment so if anyone has any solutions then I am willing to listen!

Have you tried licking it like your chip and pin card?
Sorry, I realise this probably isnt a very helpful solution, it might work tho.

Of course - I just re ran it now and it passed - I have always passed WGA which is what I would expect when I have shelled out hundreds for XP and Vista!! But good thinking - keep the possible solutions rolling as I am sure someone will say it in the end .

Not sure if this has been answered, but every time you shut down your computer (Turn Off) you may see a little shield or icon next to the red Turn Off button, that signifies their are updates available.

Tried that - it doesn't appear at the moment.
Unfortunately the problem is still here so any more suggestions (as well as the previous replies) are greatly appreciated .

Something like this happened to me once, as far as I can remember it righted itself eventually.
Other than leaving it for a while and trying again, I usually just reinstall Windows in a situation like this. I did it the other week and it installed about 73 updates!

You could always move to Linux completely, or get a Mac!
