Default The car of the future!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6906162.stm

Imagine being able to sleep while your car drives you to your work-place or driving you to your holiday-destination? I think this would be super awesome, and you wouldn't need to take long frustrating car tests to get a license, etc.

Quoted from http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6906162.stm:
"But there are other less obvious benefits. Children could be driven to school."

Actually, that'll be a benefit, the car drives your kids to school, but instead the child says "take me to the mall" lol. Okay, on a serious note, this future development would be fantastic! You'd be able to read a book, talk on the phone, and allow your car to do everything for you - maybe you could attach your caravan to your car, then tell your car what to do, get all the family in the caravan, have some food, watch some telly, the life hey? Lol. Do you think this could come true? Maybe they could make technology very smart, be able to understand human language - finally, those fiction films like doctor who are finally going to come true! lol .

Wow !!! These future cars look promising, but I think that there would be a strong need of human intervention somewhere... Some specific decisions are to be taken by human brains only, machines aren't capable of them. Anyways, I'd be real fun to see such cars gliding by you soon
It seems like we are going to have George Lucas's Star Wars saga right down on the planet very soon

That made me laugh so much Brian - how true!!

Come on I barely trust Microsoft to run my computer let alone drive me around in a potential death machine.

Personally I would always want to drive the car myself and nothing will convince me otherwise - I think it would be too dangerous and computers arn't perfect so no doubt it'll be crashing into things such as houses and more importantly children!!

Its hard to get a human to drive well (anyone who has driven on our British roads will know that!!) so I don't think a computer would have a chance!!

Yup.

And besides, I LOVE to drive. I had to get rid of my Crown Victoria LX cause she took a big dump on me, but im driving a Dodge Grand Caravan right now, its pretty good. I have my eye on a state auction for used police cars in Noveber and hopefully my dream will come true!
