Default Computer Dummies??

How many people do you know who dont even know how to turn a computer on?

I've seen people have notes on the side of the computer explaining how to do simple tasks like turn the computer on and off.

It amazes me that alot of people do not have a clue and to be honest they don't have any intention/ need to learn.

It is funny but then again if someone asked me to change the oil in a car i would be the same lol

Yes, it's strange how something so simple is beyond some people.

Changing oil of a car - I don't know how, but I could take a pretty good guess.

I think it's just the fact people don't make an effort to "move on"

Good point i wouldn't say not making an effort because they may just not need to.

Yeah, but its great. Means I will always have $$$ coming my way.

Oil change is easy, wait till you have to take the carbs off your bike and stuff. Messy.

I wouldn't try guessing that to be honest. I wouldn't let you near my car to change the oil only to have you guess and put it in the coolant tank for the engine and watch my car spontaneously combust after quite a short period of time or even in the best of circumstances, breakdown!!

Just so you know as well, its a dead giveaway where the oil is cos the place to fill it up is right next to the dip stick. Take the dip stick out, wipe it with a towel / tissue, place it back in and then pull it out again. If the oil level is inbetween the two marks then your oils ok. If not fill it up using the valve next to it. There you go - mission accomplished!

PS - Only do it on a cold engine - I'll leave it to your imagination to work out what happens if you don't :P.

I think its great to be able to teach, so if I can teach someone how to use a PC, even just the basics, it gives me some gratification.

Teaching others is fun, but also learning from them is good too

it would be really difficult for me to count how many people I've trained so far. I feel good when I see all my trained people doing well in their life and profession. One should give 100% when you teach someone as the satisfaction you get by making someone's life better can never come in any other profession.

Err...

I can switch a PC on and off, plus a few other thingies. I even managed to get to my Control Panel recently

All I need to do now is sort out how to use it!

Trust me, the number of things my mum now knows how to do is getting beyond me. Normally I have to show her everything but she's now managing to do things without having to ask and I'm like "You managed to do that?!". Mind, she comes crawling back when ever anything goes wrong... The joys of a VPN and remote desktop!

Oh, it'll be on the increase again soon! Technically I have more than that but some forward to other ones. There's no excuse for people saying they can't really contact me!
