Global vote picks Seven Wonders
About 100m people casted their votes over the internet and by phone. England's Stonehenge and the Eiffel Tower in Paris missed out.

That's the reason I don't think popular voting should be ONLY criteria for choosing wonders of the world.

I agree, popular voting should not be the only criteria for selection. The Pyramids of Egypt and the Eiffel Tower didn't make it to the top 7 probably due to the lack of awareness of voting among people of those parts of the World.

Yeah. Absolutely unbelievable that Pyramids didn't make it to the top 7 wonders as there's nothing else in this world to be called as a wonder. Designing similar Pyramids even with today's technology would be extremely difficult so we need to appreciate the work they did before Thousands of Years.

Haven't even heard of some of these "7 wonders of the world" - stuff like the pyramids are so old and are virtually legends so how people can not pick them is beyond me!!
What kind of people did they allow to vote!!

People from India and China were more Enthusiastic about this new7wonders. Both this countries have over 1000 Million population so even if their 2 - 3 % people decide to vote then they will win any sort of Global Competition.
This is why I tell everyone to get married and have at least 2 Dozen Children's

I really challenge 90% people those voted never saw any of these monument, the aesthetic value of great pyramids will remain in history and it will be perspective into the world of ancient Greece culture that really don't need a modern listing.

I guess it would be good for the Pyramids if less people visit over there. Egypt Government has failed to protect Pyramids and all the ancient sculptures in the Pyramids so its good for future of Pyramids.

Yes that could be one of the point to preserve these monument by bringing limitation to the people to visit the core areas of pyramids but other nations should also come forward by helping the Egypt Government through aids and other help that they may require to protect Pyramids.

not yet. Once I get married then I'll start a new thread over here for suggestions on names of my Children's. maybe something like JohnI, John II,...,JohnXXIV would be good as it would be difficult to remember so many names

Well said Mark! With that solution you can have infinite. I remember, Osama's dad married 22 times, with about 55 children. 24 is nothing compare to him.
All the best for your future generation. If you break this record....
You will become the 8th Wonder!
lol
