Which ISP ?

Not ECLIPSE ... im having to move after 3 years good service... the past 3 months ive had nothing but connection problems. If you look here http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist...rd=unhappiness you will see im not the only one having problems.

I did a check tonight on isp`s and found ECLISPE low rated by customers... which can be seen here - http://www.dslzoneuk.net/isp_ratings.php

When i told them i wanted to move ( asking for my MAC ) they said it would be with me in 5 working days. Now when i e-mailed to say ive had 3 months of problems and i wanted refunded for them i got no e-mail. it feels like they want rid of me without any problems on their side.

I'm with Eclipse, and have been for the last year. I've never had any problems with them.. and I get my full 8 megs, which is amazing considering I live in a village.

Im also living in a village in the lake district ( cumbria ) and the first year for me was great... but 3 years on and now problems are starting. You might be alright .. but its just strange tat many customers report almost the same kinda service as me around over the same contract period.

Try looking at the status page on ECLIPSE it clearly shows they have problems regarding their ADSL.

i hope you dont get effected the way i am ... but from reading customer reviews its highly likely you will sometime soon.

Many local factors can affect your Internet connection also. I was with AOL a while back on broadband which would never connect apart from a couple of hours late in the evening yet a friend 10 miles away was having excellent service no problem.

The engineers came back with every reason from the socket the phone line for the computer was plugged into was not the "master socket" to the fact that we had a Sky TV box too close to the modem to the fact that our next door neighbours had a jacuzzi that was interferring and disruptting the signal hence never being able to connect and getting disconnected all the time.

I was originally with AOL and I had to put up with appauling connections for a full year. I remember one of my friends is with BT and they had BT digging a massive whole in their garden to put new pipes in or whatever and all in all the only problem is the tower. Most ISP's give stupid excuses to shut the customer up. I am with BT and I have had a few problems here and there but BT is much better than AOL.

I personally don't like BT or AOL. AOL because of all the connection problems and generally poor customer service. BT for the slow speeds and restrictive download limits on some of their packages.

I thought that was discussion as opposed to disagreement!! Its good to get other peoples points of view sometimes - it helps us all and makes the topics better as you get different angles of the same subjects.

Its possible to disagree and still be friends - at work I know people who are best friends but during the day at work they disagree a lot and debate things. Nobodys right, its just good to hear everyones views so you can make up your own mind about things!
